I wish that Marvel had a show as light and fun as Legends...AoS is actually pretty good but it doesn’t do enough easter eggs. Whereas Legends is just full of DC stuff snd isn’t afraid to embrace it.

Basically I’m saying Marvel needs a Different Defenders show starring weirdoes like Nighthawk, Tigra, Daimon Hellstrom, Devil-slayer, Valkyrie and other D-listers battling Tiger Shark and s***.
I feel like New Warriors could have been that show, but it seems to be stuck in a weird development hell now.

Thanks to the rise of superpowered Green Light Babies & their persecution by the authorities, Black Lightning is now The Gifted, which makes watching that instead of The Flash redundant. It deals with weighty issues while still providing pulpy action without needing to be on cable or Netflix! Continue being shockingly great!

Despite some stumbles, Black Lightning still feels like a better version of a Netflix Defenders series.
Riverdale’s Principal Weatherbee & Deadly Class’s Master Lin are lousy headmasters & should be replaced by Jefferson Pierce! (The Magicians’ Dean Fogg is probably inferior as well, but I have a soft spot for him.)

Dean Fogg is fantastic and I will not have you besmirch his name.

I finally got around to finishing season 2 in preparation for the new seasons, and I had a question. Has it been stated whether/how many of the other heroes exist on this Earth? Are they purely fictional, or are the comics and merchandise all based on real people? (Or more likely, a little of both)

It's unclear as of now.

Season three of Black Lightning has improved visual flourishes. (Despite this, The CW released only a handful of dull promo images for this & The F-Lash.)
Spoiler: show
The Cyclotronic Man makes an impressive debut only to be unceremoniously killed. This show has a habit of dispatching canon foes too soon.
Grace Choi is now eating soldiers as a leopard because … citation needed.

Motion to rename 9 PM “Black Lightning O’Clock.” Instead of another numeral, clocks now have a headshot of Jefferson Pierce between 8 & 10.
The CW sucks at putting stills on IMDb this season.
Will we find out which number Earth it‘s set on?

So, I've never read a comic featuring Grace Choi

Yet, I've looked her up and I can't imagine how pissed off fans of her have been with how they've just completely butchered that character for this show.

Yeh I really liked that Outsiders run with her in the mid 2000's. She's a shell of her character from that series and I don't know why they even bothered using her name. Similarly, Supergirl used a character from that run called Indigo (who was a version of Brianiac) and while she was a tiny bit closer, it was also a hack-job overall.

I feel like things like that worked in the early Arrowverse when no one was paying attention.

That ain't the case anymore.

Although a bit overstuffed, I enjoyed season three overall more than the second. This finale was more satisfying than the conclusion to Gotham’s “No Man’s Land” arc, mostly because Gravedigger is more compelling than Gringo Bane.

I really don't understand the "I'm related to this person" trope. Why did it matter that Jefferson is related to Gravedigger? It's not like he'd ever met the dude.

I think it was intended to add to the drama because of the "I protect my family" thing they did all season. Plus he may have hoped that it might matter to Gravedigger and would talk him down.

They finally incorporated Black Lightning into the Beeboverse just to cancel it? The final season starts off extra dour.

Does the final season of Black Lightning fizzle out or rise to electrifying heights?
