Here's our first look at David Haller.

Legion has been ordered to series with an 8 episode production.

Not the crazy hair I was(n't) expecting, but yes. So excited for this.

I feel like we'll probably get a scene of David with the crazy hair at some point. I kind of like the look currently though.

Will definitiely check the series out. I like Dan Stevens as an actor. Wonder how they will (or if they will at all) connect this show to the X-Men mythos - not the movies but the general X-Men story.

I'm really getting the feeling that they won't. I think Fox is going to give it the same treatment they have Lucifer - a show loosely based on the concept but with no real connection to our reflection of the comics. Except good this time, since this show seems like it may be interesting where Lucifer was turned into a garbage police procedural.

All the talk about his mental disorders and not knowing if his powers are real or in his own head, I could honestly see them keeping ambiguous if mutants are even real, if they even mention mutants as a possible explanation of his powers all.

If it's half as good as Fargo, it'll be the best comic book show on TV or netflix (I really love Fargo)

Any word on that Hellfire Club TV series? I figure that would be really cool. Might even get a legit Emm Frost(or hell, a legit female character in the x-film verse!)

Saw the trailer... Intriguing.

Gotta say it doesn't look very mutanty ( I know powers are costly for effects etc)

Don't know

I'll check it out but that trailer didn't really do much to make me stop and pay attention

Your expectations on TV trailers must be really high cause that trailer was weirder and more out there than like 99% of TV trailers...

And unlike I thought, they actually called him a mutant.

Trailers have come to a point, for both television and films, where they seem more focused on bombarding you with striking visuals than giving any real sense of what the show is about. From this I was able to gather that the character thinks he's crazy, but might be a mutant, and... I think that's it. Something about switching places with a girl too, maybe. While I still think this show may be interesting, this trailer did nothing for me. I was surprised they used the term mutant and have an X in the logo, though.

But isn't that the premise of the show? A guy who has psychological issues but maybe a really powerful mutant? What else is a teaser trailer supposed to do? I ask that honestly because when too much is given away it's discussed as a problem too. This trailer gives more of an idea for the story than the Fargo (movie and TV show) trailers did lol

That's not a whole premise of a show, I think. That's a premise of a character. I'd like some sense of the conflict in a preview. I'd like a trailer to give me enough to say who the main character is and what the main conflict is. I did not feel this trailer did that. Still think the show may be promising, but all this trailer added for me was some visuals.

Oh so like who the bad guys or opposition are? Because for a teaser trailer (not a full on trailer) it does show a conflict, albeit one within a character (what is and isn't reality, similarly to early trailers for Hannibal). Which I'd take as a premise for a show that is focusing on a charscter. But different people want different things from a trailer though and I agree if this was a full trailer, I'd expect more as well.

I agree with Gomurr

The trailer was no doubt intentionally shambolic etc: with a lot of focus on the fractured individual at its core

But it would have been nice to get a better sense also of the larger narrative of the story. (Of course it's going to have more depth than the trailer can illuminate) - ( or perhaps this whole season will just centre in a mental health facility with unravelling the mystery of David)

I figured it was more of a "first trailer" not a teaser and as a first trailer, I'm intrigued ( I love all things X anyway, so I was always going to be a given).. But it didn't exactly grab me and go " wow, can't wait for this"

My guess is that the teaser is purposely confusing to allude to Legion's own losing grip on reality. However, if you look closely, there's a bit more that can be taken from that.

There's a group of people, dressed mostly in black, that seem to be chased down by armed men with body armor. They seem to be running away from some sort of fenced off place. At least some of them have powers (the guy sends one of the soldiers? flying) and are lead by a fancy dressed lady (Jean Smart) in white. Maybe some sort of x-men equivalent lead by an (older) Emma Frost call back?

The creepy guy with the needle is perhaps an hallucination in some scenes. He keeps going from one place to another and at one point has a knife inside the interrogation room (which is weird).

Anyway, here's the plot summary from IMDB:
David Haller, A.K.A., Legion is a haunted man, with power beyond comprehension. His power does not come free, as it comes at the steep cost of David's mind. Plagued by numerous split personalities, each commanding a different aspect of his power, David is trying to find his way back to sanity but he's getting tired and is about to give up until he meets the girl of his dreams.

Well, that first ep was interesting. Pretty disorienting for a large part of it, clearly by design though. Those last couple minutes have hooked me, though.
