Natalie Portman bugs me. She seemed happy to be in the first film, did Black Swan and soon became "Too Important" for the role. Same thing with that Idris Elba, right? I think I remember him trashing the movie as well.

Yeh Elba did Nelson Mandela and suddenly it was "I hate playing a fake character in front of a green screen." Of course it didn't stop him from taking a role in the Jungle Book. :P

Marvel made him come back to shoot the AOU dream sequence without much warning. Last minute scheduling changes annoy working actors who like to do a bunch of diverse projects.

I'm sad that Nat had to go, I want to see her as the next Thor 'coz I'm hoping Odinson will die in Ragnarok.

Natalie Portman could be a decent female Thor. I'd imagine he has to die at least for a moment here.

I want Odinson to die in Ragnarok so we can have Natalie Portman as the next Thor. Instant female superhero that many fans wanted. I'm sure she can handle a solo Thor film, but not happening now...

Considering the outcry that happened when Jane replaced Thor in the comics, I'm terrified to think of what would happen when the wider audience gets a whiff of the storyline. When I tell non-comic readers about it they just kind of give me a double take and say it's stupid. Though some only think it's stupid because how can someone else be 'Thor' when Thor is 'Thor'. Which honestly a good question, but then I explain how 'Thor' has become more of a title than just a name.

I'm not sure FosThor would work given the MCU set-up. Mjolnir is Thor's weapon but it doesn't transform anyone into Thor because Thor doesn't have a human alter ego. At most it grants him optional sleeves. If movie Jane is worthy, it might give her a new outfit but she wouldn't become Asgardian.

I want this movie to end with Eric Masterson taking up the hammer. Imagine that joy when all the folks who don't know Thor history see Mjolnir fall to Earth again but this time some guy picks it up and is like "Cool. Looks just like Thor's hammer." Starts walking away with it and you hear "I feel good today. Like I can do anything." Our Fandom Powers will Activate and burn strong as we smirk at the confused movie-verse fans.

Oh my damn. Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, and Karl Urban? Wow. Between the Black Panther cast and this one, my little nerd heart may burst.

Very interested that the Grandmaster is coming into the MCU - I am with you BC, I would be VERY into seeing him and the Collector share some screen time! Kinda impressed how deep Marvel is going with these characters.

So with all the folks announced for Ragnarok, is there any word on Enchantress?

Amora is a must. If you consider her past with the executioner and the many times she has enchanted the Hulk into doing her fighting

I suspect they will make the Executioner Hela's offsider rather than Amora's :-s

This doesn't necessarily pertain to this movie but interesting fact: Mel Gibson was originally supposed to play Odin

I think Anthony Hopkins does a great job though.

So excited for more Hulk in this.
If this is indeed a glimpse for Planet Hulk, I wonder how will they connect it to World War Hulk if they ever make an Avengers movie out of it.
Will they reveal later on that Stark & a few others planned with the Grandmaster to take Hulk away from Earth or something like it?

I imagine Hulk's journey from Earth to space will be explored because it is such an obvious plot point. But yeah, it would be cool if Iron Man was the reason behind it.

So can Marvel get away with ignoring the Universal Hulk movie distribution deal by just having Hulk movies that are actually called something else? :P

They're filming scenes in Brisbane (Australia) at the moment. I was there today so I checked it out. I didn't see any filming but Hemsworth and Hiddleston came out and greeted the crowd. Which was cool.

We have the first look at Thor, Hela, and Valkyrie. Thor has short hair and is wielding swords. Very interesting.
