Even colors aside though the general design of the comics costumes are just better. Her costume in the set pics looks cluttered and clunky to me.

I don't know - I kinda like it. It looks practical and sleek without being skin-tight, and looks to gel with the other MCU costumes (none have overtly form-fitting - even Widow's body-suit's not a single piece but with lining /detail work etc). It also carries some of that military-esque vibe that her current comics outfit has (re: the neck and glove detailing etc.) that is more period military in the comics, but still has the connotations, whilst being functional.

I can see it transitioning easy enough to the Blue / Red colour combination too.

The only slightly off bit I don't like is the boots/kickpad lining - it's got a feel of cheap indy wrestler where the green elements seem a bit loosefrom the boot on the top of the foot.

But its rare that costumes in movies look as good or better than they do in comics.

It's really apples and oranges. In the comics, you want clean lines because too much detail will muddy the art. In film, putting someone in a spandex onesie looks cheap and it's never flattering. You have to break it up with detail.

Are we entirely sure the green color isn't because it's going to be CGI'd? Real question.

If it were for CGI purposes it would be easier to use one of those ping pong ball suits because you have to track so much movement on a character. Green is generally reserved as a background when you want to replace the entire background (ie a green screen) with like a matte painting or stock image.

Also when you use green for CGI you usually use a REALLY vibrant green so it won't get mixed up with any real world shades of green. This green is too teal for those purposes.

I thought as much. Well damn. I mean, I don't hate it, and I'm sure it will be more colorful later in the film.

It doesn't have to be spandex. Look at modern Superman for an example of a film character that uses his comic book outfit more or less without it looking terrible.

I think the green color is a nod to the original (male) Captain Marvel's colors. I'm betting we'll get the red by the end of the film.

If you look at Superman's movie suits, especially the modern ones, he's got a bunch of detailing inside those huge chunks of color. I think it'll look better with proper lighting and hi-def cameras.

If the villainess had to be another doppelganger, I would’ve preferred Moonstone.

Moonstone would be fairly random considering the Kree/Skrull storyline they're going with. Min-Erva is a Kree scientist. It makes sense. Save Moonstone for a storyline where she can fit properly and they can do her justice

I'm always happy for more Coulson, but I'm more excited to see Ronan and Korath showing up again.

I wonder if any of this will contradict Agents of SHEILD? Coulson's had several run ins with the Kree in SHEILD. However I can't remember if in the first season, when they discover the dead Kree in the tank, whether Coulson acted like he'd never heard of the Kree or kept his cards close to his chest. On the other hand, Captain Marvel could explain how SHIELD got the dead Kree in the first place (that may be already explained, I can't remember)

Remember Coulson's mind was wiped. He was a part of Operation T.A.H.I.T.I so he definitely knew about the alien (even if he didn't know the species) prior to getting gutted by Loki. Whether he remembered about them post memory-wipe, I can't remember, but if he didn't remember we have a canon reason why he wouldn't.

EDIT: Also, more Ronan - hope there's a bit more meat on the bones to his character with him returning.

That's some terrible journalism.

Everyone knows running is NOT walking quickly. Running is a fast movement different from walking in that there are periods where no feet are touching the ground. Walking requires one foot to be on the ground at any one point. That's the entire reason there is a separate Olympic event called "Racewalking" where runners don't compete.

...I'm mostly joking. I imagine this isn't a commonly known thing. I only know because someone once linked me a video of Olympic racewalking.
