I hate Emily VanCamp and her dead eye face, so I'm really glad they didn't go with her. I actually think they might have considered Emily Blunt "too old"...for real. So I'm happy with Academy Award winner Brie Larson.

Women definitely face Age discrimination when it comes Hollywood but it's not always so clear cut in the MCU.

I think only RDJ, of the OGs, was actually over 30 when they he first got a shot. Renner and Sam Jackson were also over 40 but never headlined a film and only Sam Jackson was a big name actor. RDJ was just on the comeback. Gwyneth was, suprisingly, close in age to RDJ (only a 7 year age difference).

Chris E was 28-29 when he filmed Cap. Atwell os only a year younger than him...
Chris H was 26-27 when he filmed Thor. Portman is actually older than him.
Scarlett was 25-26 when she filmed IM2.
Loki was 28-29 when he filmed Thor.

In the second wave, ages definitely went up. Chris P, Zoe, Bautista, Diesel, and Cooper were all over 30 (Pratt and Zoe are either the same age or real close). Same thing with Rudd and Lily (they have the first relationship where the woman is 10yrs younger than the man too).

And now in wave 3 you got extremes of Holland at the very early end of 20 but Cumberbatch was nearly 40. And now you got Boseman who is either late 30s or early 40s and Larson who is 28. She'll start filming soon so she'll prolly be like 29. So she fits with the age range of at least the OGs when they started.

This is of course assuming Blunt wanted the job too.

I honestly didn't think there'd be ten years difference between Lilly and Rudd. I actually though she was much closer in age (I didn't realise he's old as he is).

Yeah I did too but then I remembered he was in Clueless and he's usually in movies with the 40-something crowd of actors and actresses.

I can totally forgive a 10 year age difference when the woman is at least in her mid 30s. When they're 22 and the man is 35 or something, that's alot creepier than 37 and 48.

Mar-Vell has been cast
Not who I would have expected but I can see him in the role now, particularly of they use the Ultimate version as inspiration moreso than the 616. They specifically refer to his Dr Walter Lawson identity in the articles I've read which suggests they'll be adapting the story of Carol's earliest appearances, where Mar-Vel was undercover at a NASA base Carol worked at, or something. The Ultimate Secret mini is another good example, and they also did a similar story in the Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon. I was hoping they'd use that approach and not cut out Mar-Vell entirely.

When I first read the headline about Jude Law as Captain Marvel's mentor, I imagined him as Mr. Tawky Tawny.
Since this is a period piece, it'd be a good opportunity to flesh out Ronan's backstory.

Yeah, it would seem very likely. I hope it is and she gets powers in her own right.

Which ever one she's currently sporting, which I assume is Spectrum (?).

Interesting. So they decided to take the colorful beautiful comics costume and make it drab and ghastly. Very interesting.

Seriously though it looks like an attempt to make it look like an actual "flight suit." I understand but I'm not a fan of it.

I like it. It’s a nice mix of her current costume and the Kree colours.

I think it's clearly an "introductory suit" that will be replaced with her actual colors after her time with the Kree is done.

Here's a "fan edit" of the costume that I'm sure will be her final costume in the end.

It's pretty clearly patterned after Ultimate Captain Marvel.

I know, obviously all the Kree uniforms were green and white:

But to me, it most resembles this costume, which is the only one to feature black/really dark green:
