See: RDJ or Patrick Stewart
I don't think that's an accurate comparison. It's probably closer to Hugh Jackman. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm a huge Larsen fan. She's a great actress and I honestly think she'll be fine in the role. I just have a couple issues with what we've seen.
So your Xavier had a British accent before Stewart? And Logan always sound like Jackman before you watched X-Men?
They both have, and always will, sound like the voices from the animated series for me.

I also misunderstood your point so apologies about that. Carol is never going to sound like Brie in my head, though.

Widow still doesn't sound like Johansson to me either.

Really?! Johansson’s sultry alto sexpot is definitively the Widow voice in my head. But I had minimal Widow in my comics repertoire before (or now).

See Johanson sounds nothing like what I would expect widow to sound like, and not just because she's meant to be Russian. But I roll with it and accept her as Widiw because she's doing a great job as the character. I'm sure Larsen will do to same.

Since Alison Brie voices her, Avengers Academy’s Black Widow should’ve sounded like Zoya the Destroyer!
Hopefully the Psyche-Magnitron is still part of Carol's origin because it sounds cool.

“I know a renegade soldier when I see one.” —Nick Fury

“I’m not who you think I am.” —Carol Danvers

These two lines open and close the trailer. Coincidence?

Act 1 sets up Carol as a lost/renegade soldier. Act 2 reveals Carol is a (brainwashed) sleeper agent for the Kree. Act 3 is her redemption arc.

I don’t think we’ll see cool, confident hyper-competent Captain Marvel until Avengers 4.

I find it interesting to come back on here after this trailer and see a bunch of dudes discussing how it wasn't that fantastic of a trailer. No hate to y'all, you know I love you, but it's interesting.

Cuz me and my sister were crying. Full on crying. We watched it about 20 times. I've watched it again since then. The morphing of "Her" to "Hero", the way they show her falling down at various ages in the beginning, and getting back up in the end. I think it was brilliant, I think it was my favorite of all the superhero trailers I've ever seen.

Also, I like her "girly" voice. I will admit Carol is more of a deep voice in my head, but Wanda, Hope, and Natasha already have lower register voices in the MCU, so I kind of like that Carol will sound different, and that it will contrast with her being so damn powerful.

Kudos to the trailer for creating a great meme too when Carol punches the old lady. Literally saw that used for "Millennial vs Baby Boomer" everything all over the internet.

Well, I liked the trailer a lot. I don't think I said either way, right? *scrolls up*

Yeah, no, I didn't say. But I did like the trailer very much. I got real giddy with excitement during it. She looks cool and I can't wait to have her kicking alien booty all over the screen in a few short months.

I don't think I ever said I didn't like it. I just don't feel like her voice matches what I had for Carol.

Everything about the trailer was great though. Just about every moment you mention Milkshake are moments that I felt just the same.

The "I'm not who you think I am" line instantly jumped out to me because we know Skrulls are part of the story. What if the Carol on Earth isn't actually Carol at all?

I still think the movie is going to be great, but this trailer didn't move the needle a lot for me. I imagine the second trailer will end up being the one that gets me.

I could believe they’d do that in act 1. But by act 2 they’d have to reveal and have the real Carol come save the day.

Ronan the Accuser's prequel costume still isn't green enough, so I had to fix it myself:

If Marvel casts Alison Brie as Moonstone in the Captain Marvel sequel, it'd be a double Brie bill!

I hope that means Mar-Vell isn't completely absent from Carol's history, he's an important part of her backstory and she uses the name 'Marvel' to honour his heroism.

Definitely more exciting than the original trailer. Now I'm psyched!

Still, definitely looks like Mar-vell is out
