I don't hate Felicity, but she was EASILY the worst part of Season 4 and parts of that are rearing it's head in this episode. I agree on Curtis being more techie. I HATED the Laurel fake out. Laurel was killed off right as she was becoming one of the best members of the cast. I would LOVE to have her back in the show as Black Siren and be redeemed.

See I hated her being killed off (I hated Laurel up until the season she is killed) but I prefer her staying dead, rather than an alt-world replacement. So the emotional weight of the fakeout, Felicity being the one who figured it out and a reignition of a push to carry on the legacy is a win for me. I am really big on DC legacy hero idea...I believe it is one if the greatest things DC has going for it

Despite spoiling its twist in commercials & lacking my beloved Speedy, (Green) Arrow was kind of good this week. Instead of introducing another new Black Canary, I’d rather Sara just reclaim her mantle on LOT. https://mattthecatania.wordpress.com/20 ... die-on-tv/

I think we haven't heard the last of Black Siren, so you might get what you want Token. They made a point in saying they were keeping her close so that Ollie can try to rehabilitate her.

Willa Holland's rep on this board has done a 180 from the early years.

Diggle never really makes it out of "magical negro" land, does he?

I know it's heresy, but I've never liked Barrowman, even in Doctor Who. Something about his voice always seems like a dork trying to be cool, and the more comic-book-y his lines are, the worse it sounds.

I don't like the season 5 supporting cast at all, so I don't see myself making it through Season 4, let alone season 5.

The single best thing about this show is Felicity's Christmas tradition of gently rebuking someone for assuming she's a Christian. As a Jew, I can relate.

I HATED Thea in the early episodes so much...

The villain of Season 4 was its only saving grace to me.

Felt the same way about her...

Yup...that and I like Nyssa alot.

I never really thought of Diggle in those terms...especially since he does get an actual arc later on.

IIRC, it was you who made the observation that he was bordering on cliche back in season 1. In my view, the only role he has really played is to be Oliver's "voice of reason," which is not exactly the "magical negro" trope, but pretty darned close.

Have I mentioned that I have zero interest in the flashback plots? I appreciate the role they play in filling in the main narrative, but as an independent story I'm completely and utterly uninterested.

Season 2 was the last good flashbacks...until now.

Yeah he started off not in a good place but his relationship with his brother and his current predicament give him a story that is all his own.

Just got to watch last week's episode.

On one hand, holy crap! Way to just crap all over Katie Cassidy. Not only do they bother with killing her off, but they also take everything Black Canary and hand it off to a new character.

On the other hand, that new character is actually pretty decent.

Still, WHAT THE FARK!? YOU LITERALLY COULD HAVE HAD THIS BE LAUREL FROM THE WORD "GO" INSTEAD OF MAKING HER A PILE OF CRAP IN THE FIRST TWO SEASONS!?

Good riddance to Rag Man. His faux Jewish mysticism annoyed the crap out of me. I know he's coming back, but hopefully not too soon and as something else.

It seems pretty obvious that a public figure with lots of secrets shouldn't date a journalist.

Pretty weak to have the newest character spouting deep character advice to people she's just met. How does she know Oliver brings out the best in people? She's been there for two days.

Well his superhero alterego is generally regarded as kinda inspirational and then there's pretty big news story that came from Ollie fighting back against Dark. If you look st his most recent history, it doesn't take a Diggle or Felicity go see the way he does inspire people.

Maybe so, but of course the new Canary is not from Star City, he character was introduced as a loner, and she's just learned a whole lot of dark secrets about GA. She doesn't seem like the most credible candidate for deep insight into his personality.

He already did that back in Season one or two when the cops outed him. Pulling it off a second time seems...Trumpian.

She doesn't have to be from Star City to know the things I listed though...still it's presumptuous of her to claim such deep insight but if we are to take Ollie as that kimd of person from his other interactions, her feeling that way isn't out there.

Mark Guggenheim talks (Green) Arrow's cast availability:

We've talked about Rory coming back. Look, it's funny, there's a whole
system of actors and availability that just doesn't -- one of you guys
should do an article about this, actually. No seriously, because
everyone's like, "Where's Thea? Where's Thea?" Willa's [contracted for]
14 out of 23 episodes this year. She's not in all 23. That's not her
contract. So, we've had to write around that. Joe isn't a series
regular, so just like with Katie Cassidy, we've got to go to Joe and
make sure he's available. Hey, guess what? The end of all these network
seasons, they coincide with this little thing called pilot season, and
people are busy doing pilots. It's actually one of the reasons why we
make the kind of deals we make is part of it's money, but also part of
it is making sure certain actors are available to us. It's complicated.
We try to make the process invisible in terms of our storytelling, but
there are just human realities and contractual realities that not only
tie our hands, but tie the hands of everyone running a show these days
-- unless you're Game of Thrones and you can just literally afford to hold people for an entire year for ungodly sums of money.

Will we be seeing Katie Cassidy again by the end of the season?
Guggenheim:
Um, I'll be honest, I can't answer that. We have an idea for how to see
her again, but we haven't made a deal with her. She's not a series
regular anymore, so we have to make a contract with her and she has to
be available. We haven't had those conversations. But we do have an
idea. We know exactly what we want to do. You now know more than Katie
does in terms of her involvement at the end of the season.

Proving how out-of-touch I am, no new Arrow or Flash this week? Why not? Were there reruns? How are viewers supposed to know? I just go to the CW app, and there's nothing new. But I'm never sure if that's my fault, a glitch, or intentional.

Exposing viewers to Gorilla City on Valentine's Day would've caused dangerous arousal levels.

:? There wasn't an Arrow episode?? Did I timetravel? Is this still Earth-1218? Are you guys real? AM I REAL? :o

 I'm pretty sure this is a skip week for Flash (and Legends) but there was an Arrow episode. It was about Wild Dog's backstory and the gun control debate... unless I dreamed it?
