The 90s Spider-Man cartoon.

I used to watch this everyday after school.  I wish Disney would release the whole series in the US.  Word has it that the whole series was released in the UK.   Also I heard they may release the first season here in the US when the new reboot comes out but I don't have high hopes since Disney is hesitant to release it since X-Men TAS didn't sell that well.  But we shall see.

Unlike the X-Men TAS series this series aged really really really bad. But thats less the fault of writers (who tried) then it was Fox who gave in censorship groups with the way they neutered the hell out of this show.

Yeah like the old Bugs Bunny.  There's no way they'd release something like that nowadays.

Well wouldn't it be the opposite? The Spider-Man cartoon had little to no real violence or action and had to follow so many rules to be able to air at the time. Every Spider-Man cartoon afterwards would have way more action than this one. THe one plus side to this show was the use of so many characters and establishing of a nice mythos.

Okay It sounded better in my head.  One major good point is that the eps had solid stories to compensate for not being 30 minute fights.  I LOVED seeing spidey do detective work.

I didn't mention this for fear of being banned but I actually recently bought a bootlegged copy of the show because I am tired of waiting for them to release it.  I have to admit that the first 3 seasons are the best.  I liked Season 4.  Season 5 was just okay.  I really wish they'd just had Peter find Mary Jane instead of doing the clone saga with the ending of Madam Web and Spider-Man talking about finding the real Mary Jane.  Wolverinefan862011-04-12 18:31:58

Funny you say that. Within the last 6 months or so, I got the 40th anniversary Looney Tunes cartoons (or something like that) from Netflix. I wanted her to be able to see Speedy Gonzalez and his cousin Slowpoke Rodriguez.

At the beginning of each DVD, there was some sort of warning that stated "Don't take offense to this. It was done back in the day when things were different." It had more legal jargon than what I just wrote but you get the deal.

Yeah, I've seen one of those too.

The truth is that WW2 era Bugs Bunny cartoons were written for adults.  Not kids....
