Did anyone catch this? I think the production standards are even higher than before, but the story is certainly not as good without the emotional drama of Spartacus' plight, plus we know everything that's going to happen pretty much. Xena's lesbian fans finally got the scene they were waiting for

So far, I like it; lots of drama set-up, lots of nastiness. Gannicus is deeply unlikable, but I think that might be the point right now.

Gannicus is kind of an idiot. He's so stupid that the writer's don't know what to do with him. He's in like 5 minutes of each episode.

Are there only 6 episodes in this season?
I heard them mention something about 6 parts and since each episode seems to be a new "part", this seems to be 6 episodes?

I think we are approaching episode 5.  Does the season end with next week's and then continue with a new title or is that it for Season 2?

Yes, there are only 6 episodes. The last one is on Friday the 25th. This is a prequel, which is why it has a different title. Season 2 won't start till next year.

I haven't seen Gods of the Arena yet, but am looking forward to it.

I just finished Blood and Sand a couple of weeks ago... jeez, what an amazing show.  Definitely in my top 12 television shows!

It's addictive in every possible way, and GotA is the same. You're at an advantage, waiting until the whole new series is out before you see it, because having to wait for the last two episodes almost had me denting my furniture.
