It has been awhile since we have had an update since a new Blade starring Mahershala Ali was announced in 2019 but now we have a confirmed writer in Stacy Osei-Kuffour

IMDB says she was a story editor on the Watchmen TV show and wrote an episode of PEN15 (which I haven't seen but heard is really good). Sounds good!

Usually such a thing is worrisome, but probably not for an MCU project. The directors generally don't get the same level of auteur control and mostly have to stay within the house style. Might cause a delay but the project itself is likely fine.

I've read elsewhere that Feige hasn't been in as much creative control lately because he's covering about twice as many projects as he had been before. This may be a result of him being spread thin.

The release date got pushed back almost a full year. Now set for September 6, 2024.

This was finally set to begin filming next month but evidently the script is not done because the writer's strike has caused it to get shelved again

They now say this movie will move forward with a new release date of February 14, 2025. Happy Valentine's Day!
