Started watching the Silver Surfer animated series on Disney+. I thought XM:TAS had weird cameos, but Jack of Hearts and a Nova Corpsman being part of Nebula's crew of space pirates? Also Mentor's voice actor is very recognisably the same as Professor X's...

My partner has picked up a couple of 60-80s comics (marvel team-up etc) and plans to tear out the pages and laminate them for the boys in her class to help them get more into readings.

I'm torn (no pun) because
a) it seems almost sacreligious to me
b) They were <£2 each so they're not really rare or anything
c) It might benefit the kids reading

On a related note I picked up Avengers 213- was thinking of having it frames alongside some others I have i.e. first appearence of Vision...but its such a depressing cover/story

The very first one was not so bad. It hit some of the right nostalgia moments and the jokes were well written. If you went in expecting high cinema you'd be disappointed of course but it was a fun summer action movie. Of course that's going on ten years ago now. The sequels were all various shades of terrible though.

Speaking of Transformers has anyone watched the War for Cybertron film that's just dropped on Netflix? I haven't yet but it looks pretty faithful to the G1 series.

If his name is Bryan Singer, Brian Stinger, or Brion Troubadour, just say no. Even if he wants you to do things you usually like.

Wow. Yeah, I don’t think I’d be at risk of “casting couch” behaviour on a Zoom interview for an operations manager role, but um... thanks for the concern and also mocking sexual abuse, I guess?

I am incredibly behind on cartoons...I legit feel like I’m failing that contingent of nerddom. The last cartoon I watched through was Adventure Time. I missed Steven Universe, She-Ra, Dragon Prince, the new Ultraman and now this...

@BC - Seige of Cybertron is a film, so its not as nig a commitment as a series. You could bang it out in an a couple hours. Also Adventure Time is awesome, I just watched the finale recently. Happy to hijack Limbo and need out with you over AT anytime.

I also loved Regular Show, and that's the one cartoon my wife enjoys too. She doesn't really "get" cartoons. She, like many, thinks they're for kids

@Crutey - I binge watched Stephen Universe, the film and Future over the last few months. What an awesome series. Future in particular was some emotional stuff.

With Cecilia Reyes, Unuscione and Unus all already taken in the current draft, it needs to be the latter, I suppose.

I watched it on Stan. It's an emotional ride for sure. I remember having a hard week and wanting to watch something light but it's certainty not light. Its very real, poor Stephen has a lot of anxiety, but very moving

I just finished watching the wrestling documentary series 'Dark Side of the Ring', damn that industry can be fucked up and/or heartbreaking at times.

I've yet to watch it, but yeah, it's properly dark. I wouldn't be surprised that if there's another series the #SpeakingOut movement isn't addressed as it's had massive impacts in the indy scene (particularly the UK).

It's just so carny that tragedies will continue to unfold, whether it's drink and drug issues, exploitation issues or just stupid errors or judgement relating to safety, there's so much that's gone wrong and is still pretty much ungoverned (and arguably ungovernable).

It does make for some great stories though, Hacksaw's recount of Juventud Guerrera's behaviour on a European tour is fantastic. There's also tragic comedy too... Jake Robert's simulating jerking off with a snake at an old timers' show is simultaneously a horrific warning of the consequences of alcohol abuse and darkly hilarious. It's so bad its ripe for a League of Gentlemen type satire.

I saw an interview some time ago with Jake Roberts, it was really entertaining, among other things he talked about the the Randy Savage/Cobra match.
