I always think back to the 7 member JLA (Supes, Bats, WW, Aquaman, GL, Flash and MM) as the ideal size too...
Morrison Era 2001-2005, Decimation Era from 2005-2012, Bendis Era 2012-2016, M-Pox era 2016-2017, and Resurrxion 2017-2019, Hickman Era 2019-?

Very true folks. Plus with less members on the squad, it will be fun to see people be selective about their choices. Each choice matters, do you draft your nation and leader early or do you focus on your regular members to maintain a theme?. *Evil Laugh*

I completely understand the team size choice, I didn’t want to undermine the decision.

It’s just that.. I do have a liiiiiitle problem with counting the redemption villain as a main member.
You can never trust them

That’s why I thought of a 7+1 villain group size.

Okay with Thunderbolts Draft officially over, I'm giving us a start date of Monday. This will give folks who were playing that draft a few days to let their brains breathe.

Ah I got the middle spot, the worst of all possible spots. At the beginning of the list you get a good chance at your top pick. At the end of the list you get to make two picks in quick succession which makes developing a theme easier. The middle? Nothing. You get nothing. WHY RINGOTAKU WHY

In nearly every draft I'm at the near bottom of the list, being dead last several times. I have become very comfortable with that set up and don't know if I could middle draft very well.

Edited the first post because I forgot to assign rounds for the free agent and villain redemption picks. They are Round 3 and Round 6.

Could you possibly switch these two rounds ? I find it rather difficult to pick a free agent fitting my squad, when I have only two set members (or maybe just one and the location) and don't yet know how many more from my wish list I'll get.

Also, the list of leaders has 20 characters, but there's only 16 players. Will the remaining 4 characters be up for grabs too as regular members, once everyone has picked a leader ?

I'm usually around the middle, it's fine as you get a bit of thinking time between picks, and you don't really miss the back to back choices. For me I like that, and wouldn't know what to do with back to back picks (or the long, long waits between picks). Middle offers a nice rhythm.

I made a list of my main and reserve picks. My first Avengers team idea went straight to the waste paper bin, because I couldn’t include the 2 special pick characters the right way.

So I came up with a whole new team idea based on one of my favorite comic runs. I think I am in the safe side that at least 4 characters won’t be picked by anyone else, but if my leader is picked by EphemeristX before me, there will be death here.

With the team idea I have in mind I can be pretty flexible with the general picks but there is literally only one leader I am interested in. I am ready for a heartbreak.

I’ll be honest, my first pick is going to be my leader. If I get the leader I want, then I’ll be happy. If not the leader I want then I’m going for my home country. I, as dumb as it is, has a team in mind already lol...

It's not dumb, that’s called strategic planing.

I'm moving it around since no one else raised an objection. And yes the unchosen leaders will be put into the regular member selection once everyone has a leader.

@Token Yes that actually does help. Should have thought of that. Thank You.

Yep. I did an initial list just to keep track of who had signed up then randomized it a few days ago.

Yeah I agree that the switch of Free Agent to the later round makes more sense so glad to see that occurred.

So I guess the draft has officially started then?

I anticipate most people will go with their Team Leaders in Round 1 but am interested if anyone will go a different route. My top two picks for leaders are probably unlikely to make it down to me so I'm withholding a strategy until I see what kind of team leader I can build my team around.
