Mostly.

I'd be down. It'd be a cool twist.

Now that the Thunderbolts Draft is going to end soon, is the next draft already in the pipeline? Would like to participate.

I'll post a sign-up thread in the next couple of days. Just need to survive this work week so my brain thinks good again.

I've been thinking of a X-Men Generations Draft where the team has to be made up of a character introduced in different decade. Thought it could be interesting way of separating out the characters. It would be shorter than some others with 6 decades and a free agent round.

So just to keep track these are the potential upcoming drafts I think I've gotten everyone:
  • RingOtaku- Avengers International Draft (Next)
    WorldWideWade- Marvel vs DC Draft
    Ev82- X-Men : Heroes and Villains Draft
das_boot- Young Heroes Draft (Marvel +DC)
    Gibbering Fool – Reverse Draft
    Blackcyclops – Avengers A-Editorial Draft
    Jazzkantine – Weirdworld/Elseworld Draft
    Cable - X-Men Editorial Draft 2.0
    Magik84 - X-Men Generations Draft
X-Editorial Draft: Prodigy, Vange Whedon, lil' Iceman, Wallflower, Cecelia Reyes, Mimic, U-Go Girl, Doc Samson, Nature Girl

What’s a reverse draft? Never heard of that. :D

I would also love to see a Brotherhood of S.H.I.E.L.D. Draft, with scientists, inventors, ... from the human history.

Was there an Alpha Flight Draft already?

Didn't Jazzkantine say they were leaving the forum? Not seen them around since March.

Reverse draft where you kill off characters, Gibbering said was basing it off old Betrayal games that were on forum.

I don't think there's been an Alpha Flight one yet.

I didn't know Jazz had decided to leave forum, I was just working with what people said in this thread.

I'm reminded of the old +/- games we'd play that lasted forever.

Seeing the other game grind to a halt, I propose we all just go ahead and agree that if your turn comes and you don't make a choice within the pre-described amount of time (three days? -- I'd honestly propose two), the next person can just go without asking the mod? And if you come back later to find you've been skipped, just jump in as soon as you're ready to make your pick. Those kinds of waits really kill any momentum the game has.

This is, of course, not my game, so I'm not trying to push any rules on anybody. But after playing a number of these guys, that seems to be the biggest issue they all have.

Most always went with the 2-day thing. It just never became necessary to this extent.

Yeah I think a two-day grace period is a good idea. I should probably incorporate that.

If someone wants to do an Alpha Flight draft, I had some time off and made a pick list alphabetically with about 125 characters.

After we’ve been through with the other drafts, of course.

With the current draft winding down up next is WorldWideWades MArvel vs DC draft or Ev's X-Men draft. Are either of these close to ready to go?

If we are doing this Marvel vs. DC draft next, well.. from which incarnation of the DC Verse? I can’t stand the current one, I rather prefer this pre- Flashpoint one.

I can do the Marvel vs DC draft next.

I will produce a list of DC characters and typically it is up to the posters to decide which universe they come from. Different posters may have different DC verses but I like each individual poster to remain consistent if possible. Each character can only be used once though. So if Superman is chosen, the poster can make him Rebirth Supes, New 52 Supes, Earth 2 Supes, or even Superboy from Legion days, but then nobody else can have any other version of Clark Kent. Additionally, nobody has to specify the specific version of a character as I know this forum does not know DC as well as Marvel. If anyone has specific questions I will do my best to answer.

I plan on giving about a week after the Initiative draft wraps before officially starting sign ups.
Current Pull List
Uncanny X-men, Iceman, Mr & Mrs X, Runaways, West Coast Avengers, Champions, Ms Marvel, Dr Strange, Fantastic Four

Can you explain the Marvel vs. DC concept a bit further? I probably won't sign up, as I don't know that much DC stuff, but Right now, I would hve no idea what to make of this. Are people drafting two groupd, one Marvel, one DC to then pit against each other, or is it one group with an equal amount of members from both companies ?

Another question: Have you ever had a Draft with Special moves, like maybe a Steal Deal ? Like every player has one chance to steal a character from someone else, who then immediately get a replacement pick before the game continues regularly. And a once stolen character can not be subject of the steal deal again.

The Marvel vs DC draft is basically the participants alternating picks between a list of Marvel characters and a list of DC characters. I envision a team of 8, 4 Marvel and 4 DC. The overall idea being that the two groups of characters have a misunderstanding and must fight each other before joining forces. There is also a villain aspect that I will explain more once the draft starts.

A steal round has been discussed in the past but several draft moderators including myself are not big fans of this idea. I personally do not want to introduce such a concept that could potentially cause genuine feelings of resentment towards the other players in the game.
