Re: Uncanny X-men #4

He was NOT on SUblime when he attacked Utopia or when he tried to kill the Cuckoos after his resurrection (in revenge cuz he got rejected by their sister...that's messed up). Anywho, I'm tired of arguing about it. I like Quire fine as a character, I just think it's problematic that everyone forgets ...

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

I think this actually looks kinda not great. The graphics are nowhere near where they should be now. And I miss X-Men Legends. They never have enough X-characters in these games, and with all five of the GotG film characters and a chunk of the Avengers, I doubt we will get anyone but Wolverine in th...

Re: The Exterminated

This was a weird issue for a few reasons... First off, it’s an epilogue to a story that hasn’t ended yet. Second, Hope hasn’t been relevant in quite some time so why bother with an issue focused on her? I could see if it ended with her taking over Cable’s mantle and pushing her in a new direction b...

Re: Uncanny X-men #4

Oh BC, he's gotten work to be a better person. I said Quire hasn't specifically been called out on or dealt with the actual murders he'd done. The character work from Aaron that built him up was building him up from snotty boy-child to more responsible and heroic young adult, not from murderous pred...

Re: The Exterminated

I wasn't a fan, and I'm indifferent to Hope, but I want her to show up at least to make sense in continuity.

I surprisingly liked the backup, though. It was bittersweet because we know what Scott did to Maddie and Nathan after that.

Re: Uncanny X-men #4

I don't hate Glob cuz he's ugly. I love Marrow as a character. I really like Rockslide, Caliban is fine, I even kinda like Maggott a bit. Glob just rubs me the wrong way. I'm also interested in Magneto's new Brotherhood. I'm assuming they'll be back after the world turns normal again. Weren't Unusci...

Re: Uncanny X-men #4

I mean, that's a fair analysis of the two, I'll give it to you. I don't necessarily feel it comes across in this book, but it did in the Christmas special, for example. It doesn't really endear Glob to me, though. I agree Quire was written differntly by Aaron, and that was my biggest problem with hi...

Re: Uncanny X-men #4

See I think Rockslide and Glob are very different personality wise...and it shows in this book too. Quire though...falls into the reform-policy area of the mutant world (along with Mystique and Magneto in my mind tbh). But Quire’s been a hero far longer than he was a villain, unlike say Sabretooth....

Re: Uncanny X-men #4

Oh i appreciate Glob's showing for mutants that are ugly, and I like Morrison's students a lot, but Quire and Glob are two that I have a hard time swallowing. Quire and Glob literally betrayed the X-Men on several occasions and have been terrorists. It's the same reason I don't like Sabretooth or My...

Re: Uncanny X-men #4

My new life goal is to become an X-Men writer and kill off Glob and Ink in very serious, final ways and make Cecelia Reyes and Gambit's cats much more important to canon.

Not to ignore the discussion prior (because racism and sexism are huge parts of the American film industry and always have been, and is something studios are working on but not necessarily doing the best job because the positions of power already existing are hostile to certain groups), but I again ...

Re: Uncanny X-men #4

Glob is literally Rosenberg's favorite character, don't ask me why. I've never met an X-Fan that thinks he's great. Some people seem to be fine with him but not many are crying out for more Glob. Meanwhile, literally tons of fans are asking for Dust, Mercury, Surge, or Hellion to show up again and.....

Re: She-Ra & the Princesses of Power

I'm halfway through and feel bad because I find this all kinds of OK. Like, it's a little bland for me. But I never liked He-Man or She-Ra to be fair. The names are just so ridiculous. That said, the character redesigns for most of them are great. I like Bow a lot, and She-Ra, Catra, Glimmer, and Fr...

Re: X-Men Dark Phoenix

Regardless of which side you prefer, the arguments you are all making are fascinating. It shows how nuanced and wonderful the story is. That said, I kind of agree with Cable that I prefer the cosmic-entity-that got overwhelmed by human emotions-and-went-nuts but also destroyed itself because it lear...

Re: Uncanny X-Men #1

Well I thoroughly enjoyed this. And I got my X-girls variant cover which was iffy, so I'm happy. So happy to see Anole, Pixie, and Rockslide, even if I'm missing some of their classmates. Wish they would've been a LITTLE more capable with the MLF, but I'm not terribly familiar with those villains so...

Re: Stan Lee passes at 95

This made me so sad. I know he has a bit of a problematic history in giving credit where it was due, but even so, he made Marvel into what it is today. He created things and worlds and characters that have given generations of people happiness, hope, and spurred our own creativity. Other than Walt D...

Re: The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

I must've spaced on the tech, but thinking harder about it, I remember it a bit. I like the pseudo 60's vibe though I'd rather just have it set in the 60's. Scares are more effective if they don't have a cell phone or a laptop or whatever to bail them out.

Re: The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

If she is trans, I think it would just be that Susie isn't in an environment that accepts or understands that, and thus hasn't been able to fully embrace it. For example, my friend Penny I originally met as Phillip, and she was an army vet who seemed every bit a "man" who never told anyone to use "h...

Re: Daredevil Season 3

I'm on ep. 7 and this season is MILES above season 2. It's honestly edge of your seat for most episodes. Bullseye is compelling as hell. Only one (kinda big) irk this season....everyone seems so STUPID. Like, you KNOW Fisk, why would you tell the FBI before you took a recorded statement from his pri...

I liked this but where was Kitty? Seemed odd that she was involved. You’re literally the only person to actually give a shit 🤷‍♂️ I'm at a loss for why she would be involved? I think Bobby was more likely to be there. Kitty is the LAST person Emma would go to. They literally hate each other....I fe...

Re: The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

I never really get what "camp" is. I like Susan Sontag's definition best, personally (sorry, did a lot of research on this back in the day): Camp is always a way of consuming or performing culture "in quotation marks." However, Sontag also distinguishes the difference between "naive" and "deliberat...

Re: The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

True, medium. Not really "silly"....but it definitely is camp. I mean, the dream episode (which I loved, btw) had SO much camp, but it's done well and thoughtfully, which is where the "seriousness" comes in. I also love how this is full of arcane rituals and weird ass things that we associate with "...

Re: X-Men Black: Emma Frost

This was the only "Black" issue I picked up, and I'm glad. In the short time it had, it told a full story, and a new Hellfire Club with Emma as the leader is fantastic. I did not like the art. I used to love Bachalo, but this looked rushed and like he kinda didn't care much. And that outfit Emma was...

Re: The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

I'm only a few episodes in but I really enjoy it. It's campy and silly but also has a few truly chilling moments and honestly the cast is just really good. Hilda, Zelda, and Harvey are highlights for me, and the characters that most resemble their comic counterparts and also remind me of the 90's sh...
