what are you reading?
I plan on rereading Tolkien's LOTR and Silmarilion. I usually end up going through these once every one or two years. Big Turin fan here.
Have you tried Children of Hurin? It is a must-read if you are a Turin fan.

How do you feel about Asgard stories?

I also like the X-Men stories when they are in a fantastical setting much less. I'm not saying that they should not be written, as it is interesting for the X-Men to visit new places, but I do have less interest when those events occur.

I am currently on a mission to read the collected works of William Shakespeare. Finished The Tempest, Two Gentlemen of Verona, and Merry Wives of Windsor. Twelfth Night; Or, What You Will is next.

Betrayal Game - Rules (basic & side-rules)

The Roles   The C-List was the first round to feature players "roles," which are unique abilities given to each player. The roles used in that round are as follows:   Killer-Select someone to die each round. Other players attempt to guess your identity. You win when you cannot be caught.   Accuser-Y...

Betrayal Game - Rules (basic & side-rules)

The Cave Rules   Named so because the game took place in a system of caves, the Cave Rules involved each player picking a number 1-10 each round. The number would be sent to the moderator of the game via PM each round. This was symbolic of choosing a cave passage to explore. The order of the numbers...

Betrayal Game: Discussion Thread

So there is no benefit to being protector? It is just that if the killer becomes protector it is game over? And does the killer have the option of killing the protector or is the protector the one who dies every time? I keep thinking of truly insane ideas for my round so everyone beware.Cable2009-08...

What would you do?

I have two ideas. One is what I think is best, and one is what I think might be able to boost sales the most.   1) Best   Magneto reforms the Acolytes and demands more mutant rights but fearful people begin to call for more and more extreme measures to be taken against them. The government teams of ...

Deadpool?

I have done a couple Betrayal Games in the past that involved Deadpool and had a blast writing him. I have been considering writing a Deadpool fanfic series. I actually have a more serious unrelated story I want to write but figured I could ease myself in with some Wade Wilson silliness.   Anyhow I ...

Betrayal Game: Discussion Thread

Somewhat related to this: If I recall I was the first mod to start PMing clues and I did it with the intention of having it be necessary to read other players posts. If I recall people did incorporate the clues into their posts, and in fact one or two people made up clues lol. Which was my intention...

Favorite X-Men Era

It is difficult for me to pick as well. I started at the beginning and read through. I guess if I had to choose three I would go with: Late 70's: Cyclops, Phoenix, Storm, Banshee, Wolverine, Colossus and Nightcrawler Blue/Gold era (early 90's): Blue: Cyclops, Beast, Wolverine, Rogue, Gambit, Psylock...

They are excellent writers. Obviously they are appreciated within the X-community but they are underrated in Marvel as a whole in my opinion. I wouldn't mind seeing them get a shot at Uncanny.   One book they should write is Exiles. With the possibility of rotating the cast between alternate version...

Wolverine murdering everyone at the Weapon X project when he first awoke there. Some of those random guards were just trying to earn a decent wage for their families. Same with those poor Hellfire Club guards.

Whose the Best X-Villian

Cable being my favorite character, his traditional nemesis Apocalypse has always been my favorite. His epic time and dimension spanning plots as well as his constantly luring heroes to be Death make him a great villain. So many cool characters have come about due to the manipulations of Apocalypse.

Betrayal Game: Discussion Thread

I felt annoyed in this game by the repeat posts. I am not bothered by long posts and complex subplots but when two or three people keep posting back and forth during one round I keep thinking someone new has voted or a new round is up only to find it is stalling.   I for one was impressed the game h...

I like the new ideas, especially the Double Vote. I also agree though that these rules should be special occasions and not permanent like the paranoia kill has become. Either specific to certain mods or to certain settings.

Betrayal Game: Discussion Thread

When I've hosted I have pretty much created the killer's motive myself because it usually ties into the clues I want to give. The player then can add extra (such as my last game I was going to have Sabretooth work for Mordo but Mastermind chose Belasco instead.) When I was the killer I don't remembe...

Betrayal Game - Rules (basic & side-rules)

Immunity The immunity rule was a rule used in a couple previous games where the first person to write their reply after the kill was posted could not be paranoia-killed nor be the victim the next round. However, in the long run, this rule was considered unfair, as everyone was posting from different...
