Re: Namor's Silver Age return

It was only in the later 1970’s and the early ‘80’s—the Shooter/Gruenwald years—that Marvel really dug down and tried to make continuity a focus. I loved that era, and loved that approach. I miss the days of asterisks and footnotes, of the OHMTMU, and of No Prizes. Then perhaps, despite what you po...

Namor's Silver Age return

Has anyone considered what becomes peculiar about Namor's return in the Silver Age is not so much losing his memory but his regaining it? That is, among other things, did Namor swim all the way to the Antarctic upon regaining his memory? And it had to be quick, because the Torch was waiting for him ...

Re: Legion of Monsters recruitment

I'll confess that the original Marvel Premiere book made nearly no impression on me since it was as arbitrary as any Marvel Team-up combination. And frankly the Man-Thing has no business being in a group at all. There are three marvel monster figures which seem to have any resonance insofar as the g...

Re: Strangers in Paradise XXV

I just discovered that Strangers in Paradise has returned with new material! Bought the first trade on Amazon just now. Yep, the new series from Abstract Studios was launched with a new #1 in January last year and is up to #9 as of this month. I believe #10 is set to be the final issue. The series ...

Re: Legion of Monsters recruitment

I could see Ben Grimm leading it. Perhaps Ben retreating to Monster Isle and defeating the Mole Man for leadership of the place!? And he could certainly build/ recruit a "Legion of Monsters" from the acclaimed Monster Isle. Once he does though, what mission brief does he establish for them? … Kaluu...

Re: Neil Gaiman's Murder Mysteries

Of further interest: Raguel's story begins in a silver cell, and the narrator's story ends in one (the airport elevator). The narrator "felt very sexless", and a point made by Raguel to highlight that angels have no sex. Tink's child Susan had a picture of 'winged fairies and little palaces' which e...

Neil Gaiman's Murder Mysteries

Upon recently re-reading this short story, I wondered if the greatest unsolved mystery is instead the identity of Susan's father, and the involvement of Tink's flatmate, Dorothy who is described as "short" in the written text (seeming to echo the description for Phanuel i.e. "small, for an angel"). ...

Whatever floats your boat. Imagine Dan Brereton illustrating the series:)

What would be his role in the team?

Legion of Monsters recruitment

The Legion of Monsters originally had a membership of about five monsters, definitely not a legion.

But what if they were the lead and there was a much bigger membership?

If so, can we get the membership number up? Feel free to propose your candidates:)

Re: Alex and Lorna's research question

Going by your own posts, you claim to have interviewed Claremont quite recently. Despite you're not being there you are going to continue to, as Nu-D stated, be harsh toward me and challenge my claim to have interviewed Claremont. I conducted a 3 part interview, organised through his partner, Beth,...

Re: Is Marvel Comics spoiling plot points for Avengers Endgame?

I think we can safely say Black Knight is not going to be in Avengers Endgame An appearance by Dane would be the biggest surprise in the MCU since...well...ever. You know what would be really awesome? After the Captain Marvel film, they spend most of A4 building up for Carol to save the day, and in...

… No, you haven't. ;) While you may have raised some good theories and educated guesses, unless you are Chris Claremont, you have no way of knowing that these are the "full details of Claremont's intentions". Um, I'm sorry but I got to interview Chris directly (in three chapters/sessions), about hi...

When Sam Guthrie returned home he mentioned his family land was "paid for" in part by blood.
