Re: Marauders #1 (SPOILERS)

There should be giant alarm bells about living on an island with the world's most ruthless mutants (i.e. Selene, Emplate, Exodus, Mister Sinister and Apocalypse), forming a nation-state army with all the mutants in the world will surely not create any fear in the human population. An obvious ticking...

Marvel Team-Up #57, Ms. Marvel #8, Marvel Team-Up #62, Ms. Marvel #10-12 and New Mutants #6

In Marvel Team-Up #57 (May 1977) we're first introduced to the Cavourite (contained in the clay statuette Silver Samurai had set out to steal), then 3 months later in Ms. Marvel #8 (August 1977) Grotesk resurfaces to steal a second Cavourite Crystal from ?NASA?, getting blasted into another dimensio...

Spawn issue query

What issue was it established in that when you die you go to Heaven or Hell at random, it's not if you're good, it's not if you're bad, and it's in Heaven's best interests to have killers just like Hell if they're going to have armies that are going to fight each other in the Great Final Battle?

Re: Powers of X #6 (SPOILERS)

I was referring to the fact that he's not always been portrayed as a saint. If we want to break it down by decade, he's had more shady decades (60s, 90s, 00s, 10s) then he's had non-shady (70s, 80s) lol. That's evidence of comic writers not knowing how to write a disabled character more than an ind...

Re: Powers of X #6 (SPOILERS)

Xavier's erasing memories never occurred consistently, and hardly, if ever, raised its head during the entirety of Claremont's run. So you can't make such a sweeping generalisation as "ongoing". It occurred in the 60s then was practically absent from Xavier's character during the seventies and eight...

Re: Powers of X #6 (SPOILERS)

Re: Xavier’s wheelchair "always a super good one", the hoverchair was not introduced until Marvel's 30th anniversary in late 1991, so almost a decade after his original paraplegic body was replaced. Prior to that Charles' wheelchair was never a "super good one" but was rather presented as the airpor...

Re: Powers of X #6 (SPOILERS)

I don’t know if that’s true...Xavier, in comics, has never fully been defined by his able-bodiness as he has other social aspects. Having multiple disabilities, spending time in a wheelchair and discussing this with countless numbers of the disability community, my comments are not just how I've re...

Re: Powers of X #6 (SPOILERS)

While Hickman shines a light on an ambitious woman shunted aside by impossibly arrogant and self-important men, for most of his existence as a character, Charles Xavier hasn't been defined as an alpha-male. He's been defined, in part, as a disabled man -- an identity as subject to discrimination, di...

I like that it took until the 15th comment in the "spoilers thread" to mention something directly from the movie.

Is the handwriting on the back of the photo of Penny Fleck the same as that in the letter Arthur found written by her to Thomas Wayne?

Re: Powers of X #6 (SPOILERS)

Some takeaways from this issue:
Might we now assume Moira was responsible for Onslaught? Would she have remembered the events of Age of Apocalypse, or the lives prior to when it started?

Re: Powers of X #6 (SPOILERS)

For my money, the single most important takeaway line for Moira's story in HoX PoX is: "What is this thing that men do, where they think they can shape the world to their liking -- and bend others to whatever they will? This is folly." I'm not surprised to see internet commentators thinking of Moira...

Re: House of X #6 (SPOILERS)

This whole discussion is exhausting to me, and exactly why I've never liked Hickman. It's all plot and no heart and also, I'm sorry and actually I'm not sorry at all because you guys are mostly guys - he hasn't a fucking clue how to write women. None of these characters are characters, except maybe...

Re: House of X #6 (SPOILERS)

I think maybe it's just assumed Krakoa has forgiven and forgotten any animosity to the X-Men since he agreed to help them out as essentially a sentient security system in WaTXM. Have you also wondered why the solar Sentinel-base is specifically dubbed the "ORCHIS Forge"? Orchis is a type of wild or...

Punisher's League of Vigilantes?

Punisher War Journal #29's letters page, Punisher War Journal Entries, has Editor, Dan Daley, or Assistant Editor, Kevin Kobasic, refer to a Justice League of Vigilantes/Revengers with Frank, Spider-Man and Moon Knight as its first members, and Bushwacker the team's first featured villain. Is it kno...

Re: House of X #6 (SPOILERS)

The other main lingering question is Krakoa's seeming cooperation with Xavier's plan here, despite what Charles's team did to him in Giant-Size X-Men #1!? Other questions directly raised by this question are the list of locations on Krakoa, particularly: The Oracle The Wild Hunt Carousel The Red Kee...

Jim Lee X-Men Trading Card Series 1

The Hellfire Club card below from the above series lists Sebastian Shaw, Emma, Magneto, and Selene, but Jim draws a brown-haired guy in green glasses, similar to Liefeld’s Boom Boom ones. It can't have been Graydon Creed since he was on the Upstarts card (cool to know from these cards Jim had create...

Re: Powers of X #5 (SPOILERS)

I'm assuming Hickman wasn’t referring to the Shi’ar power plant that ran the mansion’s Danger Room and that the logic crystals weren’t part of a Shi’ar upgrade of Cerebro. However, in X-Men Companion II, on page 36, Chris tells Peter Sanderson that Lilandra left a ship near Earth for Charles to use ...

Re: Powers of X #5 (SPOILERS)

Well, the Life and Death Seeds are created by the Celestials... Oh my God, Krakoa is a Celestial and Apocalypse harvested the Seeds from it? Or is Krakoa the positive opposite to the Celestials and they were mortal enemies. So Krakoa created the Horseman Seeds in contrast to the Life/Death Seeds by...

In PoX #1 it's stated that in Moira's 9th life, the fourth generation of mutants made by Mister Sinister were an Omega-based Chimera batch with a hive mind that was corrupted and all after collapsing into a self-singularity. In light of this issue, it's possible this is going to be important going f...

Re: Powers of X #5 (SPOILERS)

- I bet the third place on Xavier and Magneto's season will be Moira, and the third place on Emma's season i'll bet Mystique, or maybe Hickman surprise us with Kitty. When (what issue) did Forge rebuild the Cerebro-unit from Hunt for Xavier you referred to in your above post? Are you referring to Extraordinary X-Men #1 or an earlier issue?

Re: House of X #5 (SPOILERS)

Damn indeed. Maybe their fighting in utero was due to whatever is ...
