Re: Excalibur #1 (Spoilers)

I like when Rogue has messy hair. Like when Jim Lee or Coipel draw her. But yeah, they need to just let Anka and Dauterman and Jen Bartel and artists that follow fashion to do the redesigns of the characters. They always do it the best, and take hair, taste, and silhouette into account which other a...

Re: Excalibur #1 (Spoilers)

I really liked this. So far it's my favorite out of the new titles, since it has a fun fantasy/action feel and also an actual purpose. I know Marauders also has a purpose, so I'm inclined to enjoy these two a bit more. I think Howard did a good job with the voices, and I'm liking To's art, despite n...

Re: X-Men #1 (SPOILERS)

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of this at all. I don't think Hickman writes people, he writes ciphers (at least as far as the X-Men). This is more Inhumans-y to me (living in a bunch of cyber-natural dorms all over in a governmental society), and I don't like the Inhumans. I like the X-Men, the family/sch...

Re: Marauders #1 (SPOILERS)

I'm gonna surprisingly disagree with das. I thought this was pretty enjoyable. Perfect? No. But it was the best Kitty Pryde I've seen in...well a decade. Or at least a version of her that didn't totally annoy me. I hope Bobby, Bishop, and Storm get some time to shine, and that Emma is a constant pre...

Re: X-Men #1 Preview

Cecilia is in it, defo picking this up now. As if you weren't going to already! What? I was totally on the fence. Ok...I was absolutely going to get this. But having Cecilia in it is like the toffee flavouring in my latte Also, that was Chimera from the future timeline holding the swordsword. So gl...

Re: House of X #6 (SPOILERS)

Oh, also! @Cable, for something that was 12 issues, several of them were literally one long action sequence that...didn't actually move the story along or explain anything, so despite being so long, a lot of it was still boring. Like, half of the PoX issues I could easily do without.

Re: House of X #6 (SPOILERS)

Who invented "Omega level" again? Because all the talk about this quite honestly arbitrary classification just reminds me of how stupid it is. Like, they're all powerful or useful where they need to be, I don't care about their magical "potential." I mean, Apocalypse, Rogue, and Bishop weren't on th...

Re: House of X #6 (SPOILERS)

It's not just the clinical plot after plot I'm not loving about this. I fundamentally dislike the direction he's taking the X-Men in. I don't like the "anyone can die, we just restart them" thing. I don't like making them into some weird cult. I don't like Jean taking a backseat and being Marvel Gir...

Re: House of X #6 (SPOILERS)

This whole discussion is exhausting to me, and exactly why I've never liked Hickman. It's all plot and no heart and also, I'm sorry and actually I'm not sorry at all because you guys are mostly guys - he hasn't a fucking clue how to write women. None of these characters are characters, except maybe ...

Re: X-Men Legends 2019

Yeah, it's a scheme to make you buy more. I'm mostly fine with it, but I really wish it came with a robot leg for Karma and tail for Rahne. A New Mutants box set would be great cuz I want Sunspot and Magma too.

Re: X-Men Legends 2019

So excited for the Alpha set to finally have Northstar! EMP, did you see they are releasing a Dani Moonstar with swappable heads for Rahne and Karma? I feel like my collection is almost complete for the ones I really wanted. They also announced a bit for next year, but I'm not too into the X-line (w...

Re: She-Ra & the Princesses of Power

The first season is QUITE "girlish." Like, little girl. Which is why I wasn't a fan at first. The subsequent seasons have been more in line with other great cartoon "epics" like Voltron, Last Airbender, and X-Men Evolution. It also gets way more queer towards the end of season one and continues in t...

Re: She-Ra & the Princesses of Power

The second and third seasons just keep getting better. I wonder if they are going to introduce He-Man and Eternia? They are building towards her origin story. What they've done with Catra, Scorpia, and Angela has been amazing, and I love Bow. Glimmer is...growing on me.

Re: Dawn of X

I'm in the minority I know, but I am not a Yu fan. That cover, esp, is atrocious imho. I know he can do better than that. I really hope the New Mutants can get some new costumes. I'm tired of them in their training duds. Magik has her own costume now! The rest of them can too! I totally missed Warre...

Re: Thor 4 - Love and Thunder

I would have loved to see FosThor, but ugh, I hate Natalie Portman’s acting. Hopefully with a central role in this film she can maybe seem like she cares about it. She really isn't a very good actress. It still baffles me she has an Oscar and been nominated for others. But I'm glad we are getting M...

Re: Thor 4 - Love and Thunder

BC - How dare you forget ENCHANTRESS. I also think Portman was justified when she criticized the MCU - she was specifically annoyed that she was playing a damsel-y love interest. Yeah, her character was a genius, but she still ended up needing rescue for most of both movies. I enjoyed Thor 1, but re...

Re: Dawn of X

Honestly they all look great. Just really want a kids book and Dazz and Northstar somewhere, but I can wait. And yeah, Emma is on the Marauders team because she's funding it. I don't know why that doesn't make sense? And who was it that doesn't like Marcus To, the artist for Excalibur? He's really g...

Thor Love and Thunder will have Natalie back as Jane Foster Thor!!!!!! And Val will be back too! So awesome. I love the actress playing Monica Rambeau and I hope she'll be in Captain Marvel 2. Kate Bishop! I hope that the films keep doing well and being good so that the MCU doesn't die out. Thor and...

Re: Dawn of X

OK this is really exciting. X-Force and Excalibur and Marauders for me, please. Probably New Mutants too. Only a couple glaring omissions, character wise - namely, Polaris, Forge, Nightcrawler (is he somewhere I missed?), Northstar, Dazzler, and Magneto. We also don't have ANY of the kids, which is ...

Re: SPOILERS for Spiderman Far From Home

I loved it. I mean I wish Mysterio had some sort of magical something or other since Strange exists, but what he was was cool enough and damn his mind games were fun. He also looked great. I really liked the supporting cast of kids since it makes this series feel way different than the other MCU fil...

Re: Sina Grace on working for Marvel

As a PR professional one thing I'll say is this: While it seems like having a specialist PR team for one book is a bit much, it's pretty clear based on what he's indicated here (essentially that Marvel was trying to contain any PR about this despite it getting press regularly on the strength of the...

Re: Mr & Mrs X #12

I wanted this to last, but I hope Thompson continues in the X-line in some capacity. This last issue really did a service to Gambit. The Mojo arc wasn't my favorite of all time, but it was fun, and the other two arcs were really good, in my opinion. Especially looking at what else the X-line has to ...

This was laughably dumb to me *shrugs* The book title reference was CRINGE worthy. To think, if Jamie and Cersei had stood ten feet to their right, they wouldn't have been crushed by....ten bricks? That didn't even do any visible bodily damage to them? Why is ANYBODY listening to Tyrion at this poin...

Re: Game of Thrones

Sigh. The most frustrating part about this is all the people thinking they're so smart saying "Ugh, Dany's always been crazy you just didn't want to see it." I'm fine with her becoming the Mad Queen, but no, sorry all, it did not happen organically. People citing her watching her sadistic, cruel, ab...
