Re: Post HoX Mutant Appearances

What makes you think he had any idea what he was talking about?

Everybody assumed Wiccan and Speed must be mutants because their "mom" was a mutant. Well, now we know she wasn't. So falls the foundation of that assumption.

Re: Post HoX Mutant Appearances

Not mutants. Emma said that for the purpose of controlling them, and back when it was believed Wanda was a mutant. The twins have never actually been identified as mutants by a credible source.

Update on...BOLT II

Our next Update hasn't yet appeared on Krakoa, but it's only a matter of time. Chris Bradley was one of the poster mutants for the Legacy Virus during that disease's spread. He trained with the X-Men before forming a partnership with fellow patient, Maverick, and later joined the New Warriors. After...

Re: Giant Size X-Men: Fantomex #1

Sure, but Fantomex and the World didn't exist during WWII. And the Howlers' mission was "a decade later" from AIM and the babies, and yet Fantomex is already an adult. And the Hellfire Club wouldn't have existed in the 50's - 60's, certainly not with that roster. So either the entire story is filled...

Re: Giant Size X-Men: Fantomex #1

Maybe? The Humonganauts aren't an existing group. There isn't a known point in history I can think of where the Avengers, Defenders, Champions, and Thunderbolts were all active. And the way Fantomex described the Avengers, it was as if they were out-of-date, yesterday's news. It reminded me of the L...

Re: Giant Size X-Men: Fantomex #1

This issue made absolutely no sense to me. On one level, I get it: Fantomex and Ultimaton are identical clones of each other. Weapon Plus mass produced a "default human child" upon which to apply various experiments, in order to keep down the variables involved. By random astronomical chance, two of...

1) They're similar, yes.

2) We don't know how their development progressed from the time their spirits were absorbed by the young Tremont until the present day.

Re: Jake Fury, Please

Yes. All of those things were true at some time. - Jake Fury was a pre-existing character from the Sgt. Fury and the Howling Commandos war comics. - Scorpio first appeared in Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1, but apparently died at the end. He wasn't identified, but clues suggested he was a man n...

Got it. Thanks, WorldWideWeb.

We listed it as a Spotlight Update in the News threads...that may be why I skimmed past it when doing updates on the List.

Re: Triathalon and 3-D Man

The three shards did not have individual identities like the Triforce of Power, Wisdom and Courage. I wouldn't use the word "random", though.

Re: Triathalon and 3-D Man

The glasses acted as a medium through which the brothers interacted, but it was more of a placebo than anything. I would characterize Chuck as a semi-dormant sentience inhabiting the Triad energy, which inhabited Hal. In other words, the power was inside him all along. We saw something similar with ...

Re: Monolith's Power Descriptions

* deep shrug *

It was never made very clear who or what Claudine Renko was, other than "an improvement" on the Chronus project. Was she just some random mutant Sinister "impregnated" with his failsafe? Did he engineer her birth? Why her? Why didn't it work better, etc?

Re: Monolith's Power Descriptions

It's been a slow, ongoing shift for years. He made trees fly back in the X-Force '99 Annual. When he lost his powers on Decimation, in X-Factor (3rd series) #1 he talked about how his powers gave him a link to the Earth itself, which a mere "vibro blaster" shouldn't have had.

Re: Monolith's Power Descriptions

Pretty much.

They had a one-off appearance where they did a variety of different things as a result of being "evolved" humans. No defined power set.

Re: Marvel Boy: The Uranian

It's the most current story in continuity, so it's statements on events are the most accurate.

Everything it overrides should be explained by the Uranians lying to the Graysons, and the telepathic head band giving Marvel Boy false memories and recollections on top of that.

Re: Questions on Loki/Thor

I'm trying to be delicate about this...15-20 years ago I wouldn't have... In the 70's - 80's, the likes of Roy Thomas, Mark Gruenwald, and John Byrne established that Marvel / Timely Comics from before Fantastic Four #1 were "fuzzy canon". Anything from the Silver Age (1961) onwards was canon. The G...

Re: Questions on Loki/Thor

Modern OHOTMU editors insist on acknowledging everything as canon from before the Silver Age, so according to the Handbooks, those are actually Thor and Loki in Venus. Outside of the Handbooks, however, those events have never been acknowledged by the modern Marvel characters. - Loki died. - Kid Lok...

Re: Monolith's Power Descriptions

I had to stare at this for a minute to wonder why you care about Anne Marie Cortez's strength level. Rogue retained ionic power from her time bonded with Wonder Man. Simon had at least Class 95 strength. There's been no indication Rogue's power level is weaker than Simon's, so presumably she is the ...
