For future reference, I also would have accepted "Whoops, my bad" as a response.

Re: X-Men #1

So, in the original Clone Saga from the 70's, the Jackal created clones of Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy. In the 80's, the Evolutionary War crossover had the High Evolutionary study the Jackal's work and prove that cloning was impossible...Jackal's "clones" were actually people infected with a genetic v...

Re: X-Men #1

From Spider-Man's Clone Sage, we learned High Evolutionary is willing to fabricate false diaries and plant them in the walls of buildings to be discovered years later in order to perpetuate his version of the "truth". Allowing the Vision access to a partitioned set of falsified computer documents is...

To Gremlin’s point, is OM disabled or is he kept in that mental state by Nanny’s power? I thought Nanny’s mutant ability is to regress someone to a child? Or is that only physically? Or am I completely wrong lol. I don’t know much about these two. The exact reasoning for Orphan Maker's emotional ag...

Re: X-Men #1

Yes, Darwin was part of the Vault team with Laura and Synch.

In any case, it looks like they'll need to be more explicit about the Resurrection and backup rules soon. Possibly when discussing Lourdes Chantal over in Marauders.

Re: Sword #6

I would compare it to some of Multiple Man's renegade duplicates in the past. Those dupes (especially in the original Fallen Angels) wanted to continue to exist as individuals. When they were reabsorbed by Jamie-Prime, yes, their memories and experiences continued to exist in some fashion, but only ...

Re: New Mutants #19

Depends on the definition of Clone we're going with. Generally speaking, it would be any person produced from the genetic material of only one donor. Laura was considered a clone of Logan until it was revealed Sarah Kinney's genetic material is also part of her makeup. Under that definition, I'd say...

@BC: Peace. Please. @norwichchris: It WOULD be tragically ironic if the Librarian only warned Moira about ascension because he thought it was a bad idea for everyone, and her response was "I want that bad idea for me and my people!" Moira may be willing to take the risk of assimilation for mutantkin...

It was never fully explained how that happened. Adrienne explicitly had new teleportation hardware in that issue (also unexplained) -- it's possible she accomplished it through technology.

Re: Sword #6

In the Phalanx Covenant, the Phalanx acted as if they couldn't infect mutants with their techno-organic virus or assimilate mutants into their hivemind. When Paige was infected, that was a sign that assimilation could begin. Warlock, however, had previously infected mutants (such as Cypher) and has ...

Re: X-Factor #10

Marvel has been pretty vague about the fate of the Inhumans ever since abandoning them as a concept a few years back. Johnny Storm called Crystal on a long distant space-phone in FF recently, so it...seems?...that the Royal Family at least is living with that Utopian Kree faction Noh-Varr belongs to?

Re: X-Factor #10

Regarding Prodigy...I'm not sure his story makes sense. His scheme clearly started after Krakoa was founded, since it revolved around his knowledge that he would be resurrected. But he reportedly believed he was resurrected after being killed by the O*N*E alongside Loa and others, a "massacre at the...

Re: Sword #6

Frankly, that weakness never made sense to begin with. Even Warlock, a pubescent Technarch, could assimilate mutants. You could just say those nascent Phalanx, in that particular early stage of their development on Earth, hadn't yet figured out how to assimilate mutants. But the trans-galactic Phala...

Re: Sword #6

Not a bad idea, honestly. Let's take it a few steps further. Moira knows homo novissima is an inevitability, so the only way to beat them is to get a head start and get there first. Like I mentioned earlier, SWORD's actions this issue were similar to the X^3 future's action, skipping a few steps to ...

Re: Way of X #3

Elixir's first power manifestation was to restore his own body. His golden state is also a result of self-healing, and he had resurrected himself in the past with his powers. There are training facilities. A Danger Room is maintained on the second Krakoa site. It was mentioned on the HoX #6 maps and...

Beast's argument for his work is "This is a job that NEEDS to be done for Krakoa."

The counter-argument is, "Yes, and you're doing it horribly. Do better."

This eerily feels like a call back to Powers of X, when the Homo Novisima reached out to the Phalanx.

"Look at our backwater. Look what we can do. Acknowledge us."

Re: New Mutants #19

It's not entirely clear that's what happened -- his eyes were sparking as Xavier handed him his visor. Cyclops does require energy to power his optic blasts. His brand new husk may simply not have existed long enough to build up the charge for a real optic blast.

As it happens, Orchis already oversees Sentinel City mining Mercury since X-Men (5th series) #6. So while they aren't terraforming, they are ahead of Krakoa in the area of resource allocution.

Re: New Mutants #19

The law is "Kill No Man". There is no law about mutants killing mutants. However, like Gabby was afraid of, she falls into a category of clones and doppelgangers that the Quiet Council has ruled not to resurrect (like Madelyne Pryor). There's a legal case to be had if someone kills a mutant who won'...

The Martian Masters weren't native -- just using it as a staging ground.

Ex Nihilo previously made a garden on Mars in Hickman's Avengers.
