Uderzo passes at age 92

News have come out stating that Alberto Uderzo passed away in his sleep due to a heart attack. For those that are unaware of him, he's the co-creator of Asterix which is probably the most famous and influential European comic series (Tintin is up there as well to be fair). It's a tremendous loss. As...

Re: X-Force #9

Also, we gotta take into consideration this nice mythological component...that I loved as an added flourish. X-Force does the data pages so well... Except that Terra Verde has been repeatedly named as a South American country, but all the other stuff (Maya, Olmec, the general design of the temple) ...

Re: X-Force #9

Domino knows about everything that has happened to her but “doesn’t remember”... So there is something up with the resurrection as Domino clearly stated she wanted to remember the events leading up to this issue. But how would she remember those events? Isn't that up to when the last backup was mad...

Wandavision wrapped & is set to release in December. Falcon & Bucky was supposed to release in August, but they just cancelled Prague filming due to the virus I forgot about that... so many news about this virus that I'm starting to lose track :? I think production in WandaVision was also affected ...

Re: Black Widow

It was inevitable. Unless something miraculous happens, the virus is going to be in full swing during the projected release date. As for the release on streaming, I'm not sure Disney is going to do it. It would never make them nearly as much money and it would be a major loss for them. Even if they...

Re: New Mutants film announced!

Once again it wasn't their fault but this movie does indeed look cursed. Maybe they should go with that for their marketing campaign.

Re: Dawn of X: Timeline (Ongoing Project)

I'm not sure how to incorporate that in the timeline but Fallen Angels had to happen between X-Force #1 (Xavier was dead when Kwannon went to speak to Magneto and the island was in lockdown) and X-men #5 (Laura went to the Vault then).

Re: X-Men #8

Can I get, like, a brief summary of whatever happened here because I'm lost on this thread and I can't tell if it's because of what happened in the issue or if the conversation went elsewhere. Basically the issue is mostly a continuation of Hickman's arc in New Mutants with some Summer's family stu...

Re: New Mutants #9

In that case it was a reference to the continent of Europe though. I appreciate that it might not sound as bad for English speakers but in most European languages, the name for Europe is "Europa" since the name was adopted from Latin (that took it from the greek myth). It's probably hard to distingu...

Re: Cable #1

I actually liked this way more than I expected. Still... I don't care much about Kable. I can appreciate Noto's art though as well as the usage of Pixie and Armor (yay for someone remembering Pixie's mutant powers). I also like the expansion of the culture of Krakoa. It's something that has been too...

Re: New Mutants film announced!

A lot of people have a laundry list of complaints already. Some would be their fault but other were beyond their control. I don't think this movie will be given a fair shake. That's part of the reason I pity it really. It's a shame. I actually would've like to see the trilogy that was originally pla...

Re: New Mutants #9

So the redacted group from New Mutants 3 was the MLF? That's... a letdown. Anyway, this book continues to be...OK. It's not awful, but it's not terribly interesting either. At least not yet. It has a couple nice character beats like Cyclops and Magik's conversation, Mondo/Cypher/Krakoa interaction, ...

Re: Tarot card references in Dawn of X

Jordan D White has mentioned that X of swords is somethings that originates from stuff Tini Howard and Jonathan Hickman have been seeding in their books (he gave particular emphasis on Howard). Hickman said that the allusion to the Tarot cards are very intentional and are weaved into the story and c...

Let's not be mean lol. The guy might not be winning any beauty competitions now but he's not bad looking. I mean, he did look like this when younger: https://i.pinimg.com/236x/cd/55/b4/cd55b442883f0915db02a38849d2ccf7--david-harbour-beautiful-people.jpg https://66.media.tumblr.com/f977c761ba265610b5...

... it's possible that they're going with the Black Widow program having some sort of enhancements like Cap. Slow ageing might be one of the benefits. Sure, but if their cover story is family, and Weitz is supposed to be the mom, she’d have to age up a bit to sell it. Is that their cover story now ...

Re: Black Widow

If you travel to Russia, and observe their society, one of the first things you notice is that Russians tend to marry and have children quite young. Early twenties mothers are quite common (perhaps even the norm back when Widow was born). Weitz obviously is a bit young even by those standards but ma...

Re: Tarot card references in Dawn of X

Oh, absolutely. There’s a ton of references that just keep coming to me, especially the Quiet Council and how they could potentially link to the court cards of the minor arcana too. Never though of that. It actually makes a good deal of sense. Looking online at the class/faculties associated with e...

Re: Black Widow

The taskmaster's description is a good touch considering that a lot of people seemed to be confused by him. It seems like the movie could be fun but it doesn't scream "must see" for me which could be a problem but hopefully not. Didn't like the soundtrack though.

This is really interesting Das. I confess that I know next to nothing about this subject but I've always been a bit curious. I spotted some of the cards (like the ones I pointed out in the other thread) but beyond the quick description online, I have no ideia how to interpret the meaning, if any. I ...

@Manuel I never read those other titles. I knew she wrote Gwenpool and that didn't inspire me with confidence either. Glad to know the writer has a bit more range. Hopefully we'll get a title that goes more in that direction. Nothing wrong with humorous books but at times they don't fit with the the...

Re: X-FACTOR by Leah Williams and David Baldéon

I'm excited for the roster and even a bit by the premise but less so by the writer. The only thing I read made by her was that "baking sheet joke" title the x-tremists. That was awful. Not only the jokes weren't funny, they tended to undermine a really good and serious premise. I get that might be p...

I think the shrinking(I say shaken) look makes more sense. Sure you're mentor strangled his sister in the womb and she's alive is, you know a big deal. Bu in comic world, it's like 'anyway, Chinese for dinner?' But in this instance, Jean learned her best friend in is going to die in 30 days. True b...

Re: X-Men/FF #2

@Rick: You used Xavier as though it was actually Xavier...that’s like blaming Susan for the actions of Malice. Onslaught was created as a direct consequence of Xavier's actions. Malice was provoked by Psycho-Man IIRC. It's not the same. And the point isn't the blame. When you have a history of show...
