Re: Immortal X-Men #14
In that case, it's making me question why Forge and the rest of the Five aren't with them. They went through the gates in that first initial push, right? I get why the "resisters" and Magik's crew ended up elsewhere, but not folks that all went through at the same time. That said, Gillen is at his m...

So the mutants that ORCHIS is rounding up, either to throw on Arakko or get "gene therapy" or whatever: They weren't close enough to a gate when Xavier ordered the exit?

So the mutants in the desert with Exodus, Hope, and Irene: They were the ones who were actually on the island at the time of the Gala? And people who were not on the island (either because they were at the Gala or were elsewhere on the planet) but went through portals are not with the desert group? ...

Looks like Duggan is turning this into part of the X-line.
This takes place a little before and then immediately after the Hellfire Gala. We see Emma and Fisk, and then we see Emma and Tony versus Feilong.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you read this week's Iron Man issue that was kind of Duggan's epilogue to the Gala?

Ultimate Invasion 2
Continuing out of the Maker trapping the radioactive spider at the end of the last issue, he interferes in other events in this reality (which is not the actual past of 616 but close enough) to make sure there are no Avengers, Fantastic Four, etc. and while he mostly succeeds, he does admit that thi...

Re: Avengers # 3
I continue to really like the way McKay writes T'Challa, Wanda, and Thor. I had liked his Carol, but less so this issue because I really think the Air Force Colonel who was chief of security at Cape Canaveral and ran black ops missions would want to go into this sort of thing with intel without havi...

Last issue and this issue have cemented Genesis as my favorite Marvel villain of the 2020s. Her philosophy is bad for everyone except herself, she knows that, and she doesn't care.
I really hope Annihilation turns out to be like a "sibling" or "cousin" deity to the Adversary.

Re: Wolverine #35
How are Wolverine and X-Force the books that have been continuously going since HoX/PoX. I think at this point Percy has no clue how to resolve Beast so instead he'll keep having him narrowly escape.

Re: X-Men Hellfire Gala 2023…The Fall of X Begins
As devastating and horrifying (and I mean both of those things as a complement) as this issue was, it gives me up. My biggest fear was that Fall of X was going to be used to revert the X-books somewhat to the status quo, taking Krakoa off the board permanently, Arakko and the Arakki mostly off the b...

Re: EDITOR X RETURNS!: Who would YOUR Quiet Council be? (Potential spoilers for recent events)
I forced myself to not write Magneto back into the narrative. Max deserves a rest, even if I wish he didn't have to be absent Winter - The day to day running of Krakoa, acting as local leaders as much as national ones Callisto - She's both the most successful and most long term leader of a community...

Re: X-Force #42 AKA why do I do this to myself every month?
We've had 42 issues of the downfall of Beast, more than that if you count Wolverine as well, I'd like to see both that storyline and the Colossus/Chronicler one finally get some resolution. Yes, Claremont had long burns, but they weren't front and center like this as they were burning.

Re: Immortal X-Men #13
Ewing and Gillen keep both keep knocking issue after issue out of the park. This was gorgeous writing on Gillen's part. When HoX/PoX happened in 2019, it was clearly closer to Max's dream than Charles'. It's nice to see Charles acknowledge that. It's also incredible to have Emma sum up both her and ...

Fury 1
Did anyone else pick this up? I wasn't sure what to expect, and it wasn't the greatest, but it is a nice showcase for both Fury Jr. and the original Fury's Howling Commando, S.H.I.E.L.D., and current iterations.

I thoroughly enjoyed this for what it was. I agree that it's useful to get a look back at some of Storm's past phases, and I think Nocenti is a great pick to write her in this particular phase.

Re: X-Men #22
Honestly I do feel that changing the characters every year is in my view silly why not leave it for 3-5 years like before they were much better than. I also want to see more of the former villains take part in the X-Men team like the Acolytes or Brotherhood that would be epic. The thing about Krako...

Re: Avengers #1
Assuming that Carol's vision of what the Avengers should be is Jed's vision of what the Avengers should be, I am so excited! Firefighters, not cops. I absolutely love the way the writes Carol, Tony, and T'Challa. I also like that he imposed some practical limitations on Wanda.

Scott: No. Bobby: Hell no. Alex: Indifferent. Kurt: Both ways look good. Sean: Yes. Peter: Yes. But oddly enough, armored Peter looks better with a beard than non-armored.

Re: Individual Archenemies
So the Marvel Champions ones that I didn't care for are Kitty vs Emma, Storm vs Callisto, and Jean vs Dark Phoenix. I've also wondered about teams of X characters having signature villains. Apocalypse for 80s X-Factor? Hellions for 80s New Mutants? Cassandra Nova for Morrison New X-Men? Funny then ...

Individual Archenemies
After experiencing feelings of both approval and disappointment at the Nemesis sets of the X-Men characters that have been released in Marvel Champions, I started thinking about various X-heroes and who their archenemies are. Some were easy: Wolverine and Sabretooth, Longshot and Mojo, Cyclops and M...

Anyone besides me pick this one up? It is centered on Jan but also features Nadia. In the first issue we get some throwback to early Jan and Hank, including the death of her father and her transformation into the Wasp, and some more information on Nadia's family. Plus Jan's arch-nemesis, the mutant ...

Echoing Blackcyclops, as cool as the ending reveal is and as excited as I am for what comes next, Xavier's inner monologue is the most fantastic piece of character work I've seen since PAD had Quicksilver explain how slow the rest of the world is to him. The bit about how it's Xavier's dream and not...

A.X.E. Judgement Day Omega
I hesitated to make a thread since there was very little that happened in this issue besides recapping Judgement Day 6. Basically Gillen has set the Eternals up to hopefully be used more than they have been in the past.

I understood far less than I thought I would. Is the revelation of the Eternals’ purpose from the Gillen run or do I need to read farther back?
