Re: X-Men #4

Best DoX issue by miles. Fantastic characterization for the big 3 with some nice action for Cyke and Gorgon. Also, Apocalypse caused the Bronze Age collapse, because of course he did.

Once you have Apocalypse and Sinister on your side, everyone else's sins look small in comparison.

Re: Fallen Angels #3

This book insistence on making Kwannon a Mary Sue, and making Laura, who's much more accomplished, experienced and relevant to the X-men, looking much dumber, is getting on my nerves.

Re: X-Men #3

Emma and Jean were fine, just teasing and frenemy stuff. Jean didn't even got mad about the fact that Scott and Emma were late because they were clearly doing it before being called.

Quentin Quire however is unbearable and hopefully dies in the next issue.
If there is one good thing I can say about Aaron, than that he wrote Quentin very likeable and "human".
Heh...no. A thousand times no. Aaron was the one that made him absolutely unbearable in the first place.

I'm really enjoying this book, even if it clearly isn't for everyone. I liked the explanation for Shogon (get it?).

Yeah, either that or something else equally stupid.

Great issue, sold me on this series after two very disappointing ones. Shaw's move reminded me of Namor in Infinity sending Thanos to Wakanda, a magnificent bastard move.

Re: X-Men #3

Yeah, this sucked. Hickman continues to show a problem he had in the previous issue and in House of X itself in staging action scenes- while the one in House of X was great emotionally wise, it never made any sense (Nightcrawler himself looked liked he could have solved this, not to mention Magik, ...

Re: The Best of the Decade

Best of the decade (and yes, some of those don't start this decade): 1- Hickman's F4/FF 2- Ewing's Immortal Hulk 3- KIng's Vision 4- Gillen's JiM 5- Hickman's Avengers/NA 6- Fraction's Hawkguy 7- Waid's Daredevil 8- Slott's Silver Surfer 9- Gillen's UXM 10- Remender's UXF Don't take the order too se...

That said, that preview for #3 is awesome.

Re: HOX, POX, & some DOX overview

My ranking would go:

New Mutants
Excalibur
X-men
X-force (jumped)
Fallen Angels

Marauders, who's looking more and more like the dud of the group.

Re: X-Force #2

I liked this more than the previous issue, both because there wasn't anyone with PIS, and also because it hinted that Xavier set himself up for something like this, which in this case would make everything that happened in the previous issue more understandable. On the down side, I still can't care ...

This was by no means brilliant, and kinda of a step-down to the previous issue, but still pretty entertaining. Hickman's voices for Roberto and Illyana are pretty good.

Re: HOX, POX, & some DOX overview

First of all, there wasn't a single future world in this entire series. Everything in Powers of 10 and House of X is either in the present or in the past. Second, Hickman begun writing this series long before Rosenberg was hired. He couldn't address what didn't exist. You could argue Marvel should h...

Re: HOX, POX, & some DOX overview

Hickman is doing what many people criticized Bendis for repeatedly. He's telling us something, but isn't showing us and only says "that's a story we could tell in the future." Except it isn't. Bendis plan was step one: bring the 05 step two: ??? step three: profit. Hickman is quite clearly a very d...

Re: HOX, POX, & some DOX overview

The Quiet Council is, well, Quiet. So,the average citizen of Krakoa, or even your average X-man, wouldn't be aware of it. So, they would only know that Apocalypse or Sinister are on the island, not running it. Moreover, besides the cases I mentioned, we saw Gambit very mad about the idea of Apocalyp...

Re: HOX, POX, & some DOX overview

Kurt and Logan dying in HoX was impactful because we hadn't been told they were going to be brought back in the very next book. I cared when they died because we didn't know what was coming. Death after that moment became meaningless though. I also never said I was set to not enjoy the story. Belie...
