Re: Uncanny X-Men 22 (Spoilers)

So, at the end of the day, who all is dead from Rosenberg's run? Loa Blindfold Strong Guy Sunspot Joseph Wolfsbane Marauders (Vertigo, Malice, Scalphunter, Arclight, Blockbuster, Harpoon) Chamber Vanisher Nasty Boys (Ruckus, Ramrod, Hairbag, Gorgeous George, possibly Slab off-panel) Shinobi Shaw Ba...

Has been done to other characters to, when they became more prominent in the comics. Rogue for example. Old looking enemy, became important when draining Danvers, was suddenly younger looking when she entered the X-Men.
Very true.

Re: Uncanny X-Men 22 (Spoilers)

The thing that bothers me is Rosenberg seemed to go out of his way to kill characters that "could not pass as human" which he even basically outright states in this issue. (Never mind that Blindfold could very easily pass as human, at least as easily as Scott could). Or that Havok and Jamie then die...

Re: Random Thoughts

Look at this boodikka1.png Now look at this Boodikka.jpg Same character. Like I'm sorry but Boodikka didn't just have an artist do a minor tweak. She got flat-out redesigned for the "Geoff Jones" era and I always wonder if I didn't notice the callout at the time for her going from muscular butt-kic...

Really? Why is that, if I can ask? Dr. Nemesis is funny and memorable, so he was a worthy addition to the X-family. The others you notice, did not stick around. I barely even remember the Japanese characters name, Jefferies seemed to not have much personality, I think I learned more about him under...

Re: Best/Worst X-Men Runs of the 2000s Part Deux

The Fear It-Self tie-in was in the main book and I think it’s probably the strongest arc Fraction did (hell it was better than the main series). I just looked this up, Gillen did the Fear Itself tie-in, not Fraction. I was trying to recall details of why I disliked Fraction so much and I was going ...

Re: Best/Worst X-Men Runs of the 2000s Part Deux

The best writer the X-Franchise had in the last two decades was indubitably Peter David, but he never did one of the flagship titles. I really, really enjoyed Mike Carey as a second best. Jason Aaron was great for me also, but I realize not so much for some others. Gillen was also great. Bendis was ...

Sir, that was Clay Mann and Steven Kurth. Coipel did covers.
Now who is "Well actually-ing"!?

Re: Age of X-man Omega

So ends this failed try to bring some greatness like the Age of Apocalypse. I feel like this was trying real hard to be like Mike Carey's Age of X. But Carey gave us a really compelling story with lots of mystery and fun twists on characters. (Not to mention gorgeous Coipel artwork). This felt supe...

Next time I try to be helpful, I just post the damn Wikipedia link here  No no, I'm sorry lol. Oh and in reality *I* was wrong, because he didn't end up using their names even, they just became facsimiles of the Charlton characters, like The Question = Rorshack, Dr Manhattan = Captain Atom, et...

Sorry did I "umm actually" you? Sorry I didn't mean to be a jerk, but it did feel like an important distinction insofar as "Watchmen" did not originate at Charlton per se.

Re: Marvel vs DC Draft

I'm surprised that Amanda Waller is a villain, and I also had no clue that Watchmen was DC material. Obviously I don't know enough DC to take part. One of the franchises DC bought over the years. Watchmen was originally from Charlton Comics and in the mid 80s? DC published the comic. To be technica...

Re: Random Thoughts

I like to think the only person to have ever played Zaphod Beeblebrox is Mark Wing-Davey. The movie adaptation of HHGTTG was an abomination. Freeman and Fry were pretty well cast, but it was not a good treatment at all. I think just about all the casting was good, I especially liked Mos Def as Ford...

And once again I sum up that Trump sounds like the Galactic President from Hitchhikers: He is actually there to do things distracting and stupid so everyone focuses on him instead of what the real power is doing. Anyone know where I can find some of the classic Boondocks comic strips online? I have a 20-year-old client serving a life sentence. We’re in an indefinite holding pattern on his case, and so from time to time I send him a litter that says “nothing’s happening.” I’d like to include a comic or joke ...

Re: X-Men Apocalypse

I wonder if she also mentioned Psylocke is British! Like, I also imagined, no matter what body she had, her accent stayed the same. Either way, it's kinda sad that even after the popularity of Marvel, and seeing that "hiring fans" helped produce great movies, they kept giving Kinberg a chance. Blac...
