Re: Random Thoughts

I'm not saying it never happened before just wondering if folks at the time had the reaction I did of "Huh? Is that.. I mean the headpiece is the same... Okay I guess thats Boodikka. Huh." or if I just found it jarring cause I was marathoning GL and so a character who had been gone for years in rea...

I just saw the preview pages, a couple of new little kids again added to the cast.

A lot of former main characters have been sidelined for years just to make room for new children to fulfill the „all ages“ comic code.
That's certainly a take on the whole thing...

Re: Uncanny X-Men 22 (Spoilers)

Oof, wonder if crow tastes good deep-fried cause I'm eating plenty. I hoped that something would make all the deaths mean more than the sum of their parts. Each death, to me, felt like it meant something, but at the same time it clearly became a thing of shock and awe. Then to go with such a big pla...

Re: New Mutants film announced!

It's so weird that a movie that seems essentially "done" is continually pushed back. I guess Warlock isn't exactly a given and they still haven't done the reshoots for the movie. I understand somewhat considering all the stars are in various tv shows/movies so working around so many schedules is a p...

This issue was great!

And idk, from my perspective, it looks like the artist modeled Blade after Michael Jai White in this issue.

I was reading this and I was thinking, is that MJW? He is Spawn not Blade, lol.
I've seen a picture from it and you're 100% on the money. It's not even subtle.

Re: X-Men Apocalypse

It’s hard to understand most of the decisions made with this franchise, since the films turned out so poorly across the board. So, when I saw you commented on this I thought you were going to mention how you weren't sure if you'd seen the movie, but had watched it and discovered you had in the past...

I don't mind harkening back to the old days of yore, but the story cannot entirely consist of rehashing old stories. See The Force Awakens.

I mean everything said about the F&WS make me bekieve its post-Endgame and deals with Sam and Buck embracing the legacy. It just occurred to me that I have no idea how Cap's shield became intact again (to be given to Falcon) since it was destroyed in the battle with Thanos. Are we to assume it came...

Re: SPOILERS for Spiderman Far From Home

Bullies like OG Flash were a dying breed a decade ago when I graduated high school. I've always been a big black guy, but my friends were generally smaller, nerdy, white guys and gals. Most of the jocks were just as nerdy as we were and there was hardly any physical violence against the "weaker" stu...

Re: SPOILERS for Spiderman Far From Home

Flash is only a classic jock because he was created in an era where that simply was the norm. As for him being a 'catch' we don't really know because we never really see him do much outside of torment Peter. The rest of it? Still nothing stopping it. Whether it's physical or emotional, bullies prett...

Is all that code for: “it’s because he’s a brown” dude? If not I sincerely apologize. If not, then just say that lol Eh, I think there's a legitimate issue for purists. A lot of people prefer these stories sticking as close to the original material as possible. Instead of interpretations they rathe...

Re: Reading in the Moment (and why solicits suck)

You simply do not like the pace of his plots, his characterization, or his seeming inability to show not tell. And... his use of deaths for shock value just leaving me numb and indifferent. Things getting too grim for too long just leads to boredom (which was also a problem for TWD) Valid criticism...

Re: Reading in the Moment (and why solicits suck)

Then you simply don't like Rosenberg's story. It has nothing to do with him using death for shock and awe. You simply do not like the pace of his plots, his characterization, or his seeming inability to show not tell. On another tangent... (I'm not sure why this topic has me like this) Taking a writ...

Re: SPOILERS for Spiderman Far From Home

Yeah, nothing Flash is in the comics is invalidated by who he is in the movies. He's still a little shit, he's still an egotistical ass, and he's still an absolutely massive fan of Spider-Man. As long as he continues to dump on Peter but love Spider-Man they're staying true to the essence of his cha...

Re: Reading in the Moment (and why solicits suck)

So, as BC said, this isn't a matter of death being permanent. Entire story plots are invalidated by the "this is going to be undone by a future writer" without even thinking about death. See Emma in Uncanny and her grand plan. It doesn't matter what is going to be written in the future. What matters...

See, weirdly, those don't bother me. Something about how wide they were made it less of an issue. It's literally that gravelly, moley, uneven texture that is tripping me up badly.

3 of the 4 members of the Fantastic Four were left on the board.

I know we're all pretty much of the mind Marvel buried them to stick it to Fox, but...maybe they weren't worth publishing books for?

Re: Erasing Mutant Memory: A Solution or a Stupid Gaffe?

I view Emma's solution the same way that I view Dark Beast's solution to the cure. It isn't the best idea. It's just the idea that character came up with and it works for that character. Emma isn't thinking about the mutant race's position as a minority analogy. She's simply thinking about survival....
