Re: Invaders #1

With the sliding timeline, if Namor wasn't amnesiac all those years... If he had kept fighting in wars plus his time as a "superhero" and all those battles... His PTSD would be... like I'm actually scared at this possibility.

I just got my copy in and read this. Just Yeah. This may be my favorite Hulk run since the iconic PAD run.

Re: The Best X-Factor Run

Ultimately I think the end of David's second run was hampered by his old habit of tying up loose plot danglers from other sometimes unrelated series or just plain using it to do old ideas he didn't get to on old books. Apparently the Hell On Earth War was something he'd been wanting to do for a whil...

David Government
David P.I./Legacy (in my mind it's one long run)
Simonson's "O5 Run"
DeMatteis "In-Between"
David "Corporate Team"

Re: Random Thoughts

Yeah but having not personally experienced it, I'm also really squirmy about doing stories about miscarriages. I thought the most interesting part to me being a nerd was how original Magik didn't immediately vanish when time changed. Basically she's done so many time jumps thanks to Limbo that she b...

Re: Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1

Yeah but I'm also looking at all the times she was used to advertise and hype an issue before her actual "death". The threat of Death to sell an issue counts because you end up with that being the perception of the character to the casual fan. Yes she was used well I won't deny that but still: Eithe...

Re: Random Thoughts

So in a rare situation I dreamed up the start of a X-Men fanfic. As in a literal dream played out with Magik and the New Mutants. It started with her having one of her "demon-bound" fits and wanting to "fix" herself via time-travel and ended with an alternate Illyana who had hooked up with a never-d...

Re: Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1

Nope. I figured she should have died off when Peter got married. MJ was now his main non-super support. May had served her purpose from a writing standpoint but writers felt like some part of Peter had to remain that young kid needing Aunt May so they kept her around yet keep exposing her to danger ...

Re: Random Thoughts

Yeah I didn't see that many new films this year. I think like um two or three. I just stock them once they come come out on DVD. And explain to morons that no if something is still in theaters it isn't coming out on DVD in the next week.

Re: Avengers Infinity War SPOILERS

It worked for me. I agreed it was a dangler as it looked like he was transported into space somewhere. It was always there as a potential future plotline. The stone transported him to another stone (they are in sync on some level, makes sense to me) and Skull finding he couldn't touch it and there w...

Re: Omni/Multiverse and the Captain Britain Corps

Spider-Britain survived so why would she send more? „When Morlun consumed Spider-Man Noir, Spider-UK attempted to kill him in retaliation but had his neck snapped from behind by Verna.“ That was from Spider-Geddon the second story. Not the initial Spider-Verse which I was talking about. D...

Re: Omni/Multiverse and the Captain Britain Corps

The key is when the CBC has proper membership that unless something threatens the entirety of the Omniverse, they let each earth's appointed CB deal with it. It's not a full bureaucracy in charge of the Omniverse but more of a law enforcement group. Look at the actual way the Spider-Verse was handle...

Re: Omni/Multiverse and the Captain Britain Corps

Also let's remember most Corps stories amusingly result in large scale employee deaths. So the Corps is almost constantly having to repopulate itself. As such it could easily be said "Yeah we didn't have the manpower to help at that point. We were understaffed and another dimension had a multiversal...

Re: Spider-ggedon #5

Yeah I just finished my marathon reading of Spider-ggedon. I liked it. A solid follow-up to Spider-Verse and the Web-Warriors spin-off. I don't follow Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man or Renew Your Vows but just knowing the existence of them was enough to not feel like I am missing important bits from not ha...

Re: The Judas Contract

Kory Art in general often seemed like Perez seeing what he could get away with when it came to sexual implications. At least Peter/MJ over in Marvel were married before the non-stop innuendos and the occasional scenes of Mrs. Parker less than fully dressed. Shameful DC! :P

Re: The Judas Contract

Wolfman/Perez's Titans run was situationally and deliberately a mirror of Claremont/Byrne's Uncanny run. So, imagine reading Uncanny X-Men #134-137 without being exposed to any of the characters beforehand. One thing Ring missed in his recitation was that Terra was ALWAYS sociopathic in the comic. ...

Re: The Judas Contract

I agree reading it without context hurts it a lot. But that was in many ways the Wolfman/Perez style is that summed up: They played a long game with all of their plots so reading things in a bubble hurts the story. Most major Titan arcs were like that. However the Teen Titans was one of the best boo...

Re: The Judas Contract

Besides being the culmination of the "Terra is a mole" storyline it served as a turning point for the team. After Grayson's brief hiatus he returns to the team with his new Nightwing identity, Gar/Beast Boy/Changeling suffers emotionally for a long time after this due to Terra seducing him and thus ...

It's a travesty that Nomad was the Captain America sidekick brainwashed into being an evil assassin first, but society only cares about Bucky. Don't forget about D-Man being turned into a Scourge. And way back in the day Falcon being a mole that wasn't a mole that might be a mole hell it's a cosmic...
