Re: Legion TV series

I keep watching this (unlike the Gifted which I fell out of love with fairly early on) but I'm not sure I'm enjoying Legion. It's getting weirder all the time and I'm struggling to believe any of what is happening is 'real' - I also find Dan Stevens distracting in terms of what age he's supposed to ...

Re: X-Artists Rushmore

Nope, it was his brother John Buscema who worked on Wolverine. Sal did some great artwork and designs for the Avengers though, including the original Squadron Sinister, and a decent run on Spider-man too.

ExphemeristX - Not surprised Land went with the outfit with the least amount of material. Probably the closest match to his reference material.

Re: Random Thoughts

A garage? Pfft. I'd love a bit of grass to ourselves.

Alas London's property pricing seems to have knocked that on the head for the foreseeable future.

Re: Astonishing to Continue with New Creative Team

Floating Havok head, cut-off at the waist Colossus, the weird lighting (look at where the shadows fall on each of the characters - it's all over the place - and this is in the line work of composition, so it's not the fault of the colourist), the perspective of Warpath's blades which show them as co...

Re: MASTERS OF EVIL I-IV

Under Siege is a story I've heard a lot about but never actually picked up. I think the MoE IV article convinced me I can't leave it alone and need to get this.

Good job all involved...

Re: Astonishing to Continue with New Creative Team

That cover is horrendous. Absolutely hideous. I know Land's had his fair share of criticism (some is more than justified) but he's also done some fantastic pin-up cover work. This...isn't such a case. Interesting line-up. I don't recall Beast ever being on the same line-up as Warpath or Dazzler (sur...

Re: Agents of Shield season 5

After schizo Fitz a couple episodes back this series has started to flatten out a bit for me. I'm just not particularly enthused about either Hale as villains and I want the Confederacy storyline to come front and centre. Also most operating theatre scenes in a Shield series so far? How many times h...

Re: X-Artists Rushmore

No way on Quietly for me... the leathers were ditched as soon as he was, and to a certain degree he certainly took influence from the leather X-costumes from the first movie in his designs too. His character designs of Xorn and Kid Omega were stronger though - but I'm not sure if individual characte...

Re: X-Artists Rushmore

Oops didn't see this thread before posting my artist choices on the writers thread. I can't believe that anyone wouldn't have Lee on their list for art. He defined a generation with his costume designs far more than any other beside maybe Cockrum, and his art legacy lasted well beyond his own run. 1...

1.Lee
2. Claremont
3. Lobdell
4. Morrisson

Not all my personal favourites, but I think these have had the most impact on the franchise as a whole.

Artists' mountain:
1. Kirby
2. Cockrum
3. Byrne
4. Lee

Re: Jessica Jones s.2 e.10-13

I binged the rest of the season over the Easter weekend, and I loved it. I did think IGH would be investigated a bit more to find out who else Karl 'helped' - the loss of Whizzer so early on had me pegged we'd see a few more Z-list cameos as the results of their experiments. I kinda liked that there...

Re: Avengers Primer - Part 1

Great read. I came on board to the Avengers with the Panini British reprints starting around the Perez / Busiek run, specifically around the Ultron family gathering issues where I became aware that the Avengers had a much richer canon than 'big stars teaming up' concept I had understood it to be bef...

Re: Behold... The Vision!

Brilliant development!

As an X-Men fan who has drifted further and further into the A canon, this is very exciting for me.

Where will characters with very close ties to both groups reside (Beast, Quicksilver, Wolverine)? Or will these be accessible from either site?

Re: Jessica Jones s.2 e.4-6

Just finished this 'block' - in previous NetFlix stories I've had a little whinge about nothing much happening for a few episodes. Yet for Jessica Jones, I'm really enjoying this slower pace. It feels more natural without an obvious 'big bad' to confront, and lets the drama of Jess, Trish and Malcol...

Honest answer? I think it'd depend on what those motivations were and how they could explain them. Lack of things to carry? I wouldn't necessarily look upon it favourably. Commitment to sustainability? Okay, I get it - though might think you're a bit of an eco-hippy ;) But essentially, interviews ar...

Re: Random Thoughts

So I am looking for a job, had an interview last week, long story short, I used my smartphone to be able to refer to the job description, and later got the advice (of a third party, someone helping me in my job search, not the person that interviewed me) it'd have been more professional to refer to...

I thought Stane might've got chosen, a natural counterpart to Iron Man, and Tony's best direct villain still I think. (I thought about using him to play off Howard)

Re: Captain Marvel

I wonder if any of this will contradict Agents of SHEILD? Coulson's had several run ins with the Kree in SHEILD. However I can't remember if in the first season, when they discover the dead Kree in the tank, whether Coulson acted like he'd never heard of the Kree or kept his cards close to his ches...

Re: Agents of Shield season 5

Schizophrenic Fitz was brilliant. I loved that he didn't really regret what he'd done either. We finally saw the consequences of the Framework and how he's now willing to delve into science despite ethical / moral boundaries. He's becoming Holden Radcliffe, which is appropriate given their bond.

Re: Random Thoughts

I actually think Goldust's ring work has gotten better with age. If he was as good in the ring as he is now when he debuted the character he could've been a long term star. Jumping to WCW for his Seven role was probably not the best move at that time either.

Still think there's a couple of gems in there. I had a tough choice between Ego and one other who is still on the board who I thought was a fantastic villain, but the Living Planet won out on the lunacy factor.

This form you see before you is only an extension of who I truly am. I don’t know where I came from, exactly. The first thing I remember is flickering, adrift in the cosmos - utterly and entirely alone. I fed on the matter around me like plankton. I grew smarter and stronger. I formed a sheathe to p...
