Re: X-Artists Rushmore

Hmm... Nu-D, you've made a good case for Kirby. I think perhaps I was evaluating his significance in comparison to his significance in his other franchises, rather than just against the other x-artists. The Kirby-scale is though. Swapping him into my artist Rushmore over Silvestri. Mountain carvings...

Re: X-Writers Rushmore

It might not be Jefferson's America still, but no one undid the Louisiana Purchase. I didn't attempt to adhere to presidential analogies in my own picks, but Morrison doesn't strike me as Roosevelt. Edgy, confrontational, not shy about tearing things down, a bit genocidal... if Morrison is a preside...

Re: X-Writers Rushmore

It's not really the topic for it, but I'd maybe deny Morrison's influence and legacy - I think a lot of the changes he wrought were undone, some pretty quickly and unceremoniously. But that's why he's not on my list, to each their own. I'm kinda surprised to see PAD showing up as much as he has. I l...

Re: X-Artists Rushmore

In terms of significance to the x-books themselves, though, I'm not sure Deadpool rates. He really is off in his own corner most of the time with little significance on the x-books or their direction. Cable is more significant to the x-books as a whole, but still sort of off on his own - when I read...

Re: X-Writers Rushmore

If artists are included but Byrne doesn't make the cut I'm protesting the mountain. Concerning the X-books, I might be willing to argue Kirby falls behind Cockrum and Byrne in significance. Overall agree with your assessment, though

Re: X-Writers Rushmore

If specifically confining it to credited writers, Stan Lee (so much of the core antagonists and conflicts get laid out in those first dozen issues that it has to be acknowledged, Jack Kirby's role being credited as artist disqualifying him from consideration as I understand the question), Claremont,...

Re: Legion TV series

Oh, so in that scene Lenny wasn't the Shadow King realizing that he, along with Oliver, was trapped. I misunderstood that. The visuals following Lenny's comment make more sense in that context. And I got that Sid was shifting into the cat, and seemed able to revert at will, but she was talking to Ke...

Re: Legion TV series

God, this show is so delightfully bizarre. Thankfully, David was completely aware of how weird the basket-headed guy and the autotuned mustache women were. Having him note that helped. I really loved the dance-off as telepathic battle. I like the idea that telepathic battle might be represented as d...

Re: Phoenix Resurrection #5

As a series, I think this was a decent story idea flawed by things outside the narrative. Had this been condensed into a more concise giant-size book, or had the mystery/horror elements been spread out as one or two page scenes in various books for months Claremont-style, I think it would have held ...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I think the main difference between the lack of solid info in the original trilogy on Palpatine, Vader's fall, the Republic's fall, etc and the lack of information on Snoke, Kylo's fall, etc is that the former was, at the time, purely exposition that established the setting, whereas the latter is be...

Yeah i'm a 35yo fan and have been reading since 1991 and Bendis was the first time I EVER dropped a book. To this day I still have no idea what happened after BOTA. It got better honestly... I'll die on this hill. Wasn't The Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier after BotA? Did you actually fin...

Re: X-Men Red

The dropping of Frenzy off the radar is criminal. You had a long term villain who, after getting a taste of being a hero and treated as such (in age of x) wanted to be good... that's a really interesting character arc.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War

Yeah, I'd be surprised if he doesn't get some headgear at some point. The voice still seems a bit off, though. For a character of that frame, Brolin's voice needs to get dropped an octave or something. Still ridiculously excited about this film, though. Infinity Gauntlet was one of the few comics I ...

Thanks everybody!!!!! If only comics could somehow be turned into audiobooks, read by the voice-actors from cartoons or live-action (I'd love to have the Mutant Massacre read by the cast of the 90s animated series lol)... https://www.graphicaudio.net/our-productions/series/marvel.html I just stumbl...

Re: X-Men Red

I get your concern, Fenix, regarding how most of the Red roster seems to have little to no connection to Jean. That was my gut reaction too, but I've been putting my misgivings to rest by remembering Excalibur. That was an eclectic group that didn't seem like a natural fit, but in the story or made ...

Neither, from the sounds of it. Looks more like their aiming somewhere in between background material and fan fiction.

Re: X-men: The Gifted

I'm still on the fence about this show. I would definitely watch a show about Polaris's band of mutants. I really wasn't feeling the Strucker family elements of the show, though. Hopefully it'll grow in me as they develop the show further.

Then my last pick is the Morlock Tunnels, which will gain Krakoa like sentience and fight an also sentient Muir Island in the Atlantic like an east coast Pacific Rim.

Unless Cable still wants it, then, yeah, I'll still take ForgetMeNot.
