Re: X-Villain Notoriety

That 2000s era Brotherhood (Bela, Clive, etc) would be publicly known, right? Not individually, maybe, but surely as a group since they were responsible for a high-profile kidnapping/ransom and a number of terrorist attacks.

Re: X-Writers Rushmore

For better or worse, Morrison completely changed the direction of the X-Books. To this day, it's still a mutant herd school set-up. Most of the concepts he introduced were actually kept and re-used over and over. Everybody brings up psycho-Magneto as a huge mis-step but how many times has Sublime c...

Re: X-Writers Rushmore

Morrison didn't rely on schlock, though? That was Ennis. The fact is, the main person who was unhappy with the direction of the X-Men was Claremont. And he abruptly changed course and messily undid Magneto's death. So messily, in fact, that no other writer would touch that story for years. And every...

Re: X-Writers Rushmore

Can anyone explain to me why Morrison gets considered at all? Started his run by killing of about 16 million mutants (so much for overkill), ended it by turning Magneto into an uber psychopath (fortunately directly retconned). He also started the 'mutant herd' thing by having 139 teenage mutants li...

Re: RuPaul's Drag Race Season 10

I really liked Aquaria's, Vixen's, Asia's and Cracker's. I'm certain Vixen's look is what saved her this week. Or Monet, depending on how the lip sync would've gone down. This is one of those runways challenges where you just sort of have to embrace the materials and go for it.

Re: Legion TV series

Maybe I'm in the minority but I don't really care about what's real. David is powerful enough that whatever he wants to be real, is. That's enough for me. Until we find out for sure (if we ever do, because television is unreal itself), I'm perfectly fine just hanging on and enjoying the scenery.

Re: Avengers No surrender Part 15

I literally cannot for the life of me understand what the actual point of this title was. I feel like you have to be a gamer to like this. It's basically "capture the MacGuffin! Complete the boss fight!" as far as plot. But the plots just a vehicle for all the fun action and nice character beats. ....

Re: RuPaul's Drag Race Season 10

Go Kameron! She was adorable during this week's challenges. She really hammed it up and came out of her shell. And I really liked her muscle queen army aesthetic for the mini-challenge. I was reading the narrative this week and was convinced The Vixen was going home. Honestly, if it wasn't for the f...

Fantastic Four to relaunch with possible changes

According to Newsarama , the new Fantastic Four book will return in August. Among the changes are the addition of an older seeming Valeria and Franklin to the cast. Looking closely, it seems that they're not wearing 4 emblems, but FF ones, so the actual team status is still under question. Also, Dan...

Re: Deadpool 2

Wait. The pyro kid's name is Russell? As in Rusty Collins? That has been the speculation ever since an earlier trailer showed him with glowing hands in the midst of fire that seemed to radiate outwards from him. I'd say the "Russell" name confirms Julian Dennison as a race-swapped Firefist. I wonde...

Re: Astonishing to Continue with New Creative Team

The last time I remember Land doing covers, they didn't reflect the actual costumes worn inside the book. I remember Psylocke in particular being drawn in her standard swimsuit while wearing a pair of pants inside. So yeah, I take the designs on this cover with a grain of salt. I also think the egg-...

Astonishing to Continue with New Creative Team

Astonishing X-Men will continue beyond issue 12 with both a new creative team and a new team line-up. Matthew Rosenberg (Phoenix Resurrection/New Mutants: Dead Souls) and Greg Land will continue the book with a new storyline and a cast shake-up. Beast and Havok will co-lead a team comprised of Dazzl...

Re: MASTERS OF EVIL I-IV

Yeah, old school comics were much more exposition heavy, almost to the point that they were illustrated stories. Modern artists tell a much larger percentage of the overall story. Reading an old issue of 60s X-Men took four or five times as long as modern comics.

Yeah, it was never really cleared up. Domino was one of those 'mysterious' characters that had no backstory and it only came out in degrees.

Re: MASTERS OF EVIL I-IV

I love these! I'm enough of an X-Head that there isn't much in many of the X-Spotlights that's new info to me. But these Avengers ones are wholly different, since I really didn't start reading them regularly until the Bendis era.

Jim Lee has to be on there. He designed the costumes they wore on the Fox cartoon. He literally defined the look of the X-Men for millions of kids.

Re: Legion TV series

Yeah. That only really happens because people are dense and it would go completely over most people's heads otherwise. The exception being, of course, shows or episodes where the plot is literally about body switching.
