Not sure what to even say about that promo image. The art is gorgeous but I was really hoping for a break from time traveling.
Let's not jump the gun. We really have no idea what these titles are about.

As long as it is not another alternate reality story...
Well I see white Nightcrawler, kid Havok, multiple Jeans, a metallic dark haired Magik, numerous dead characters, lots of classic costumes...I'd say the juries out on that.

My money is on an anthology series

Well it was totally focused on Uncanny X-Men...we can certainly look at X-Men/X-Men Legacy/New x-men too

Re: Captain Marvel

I finally saw it. I quite enjoyed it but I didn't leave the cinema with a permanent smile like I did after Guardians, Ragnarok or Winter Soldier. I'd give it a solid B. Did one of the Skrulls disappear? There were four originally. Talos, Science Guy and two buddies. One buddy power as Coulson and wa...

Re: Random Thoughts

Thanks for educating me folks. I've always heard mention of the electoral college but never really had any idea. It sounds really unecessary from a surface, high level layman's point of view. I can understand the genesis of it though given the nation was oncea lot more speead out and isolated, and p...

Re: Random Thoughts

Such a spirited debate, yet intellectual and respectful. How is it our forum has so few trolls compared to other sites.

As an Australian with no idea what an electoral college is I have nothing of value to add to the conversation, so I just wanted to say that instead :-)

Re: what are you reading?

I've just finished The Three Secret cities by Matthew Reilly. Does Matthew Reilly rate a mention in other countries? He's pretty popular here in Australia (his home country). I liken his books to the literary equivalent of a Streven Segal film though that undersells them a bit. They're full of ridic...

Re: Random Thoughts

Why does noone have Big Hero 6 or Wreck-it-Ralph in their Disney lists?!

My Disney list:
Wreck It Ralph
Big Hero 6
Aladdin
Lion King
Little Mermaid
101 Dalmations
Rescuers Down Under
Jungle Book
Mulan
The Black Cauldron (but I might be thinking of the Sword in the Stone)

Re: Uncanny 00's

I see there was no Carey review. He was my number 1 for the 2000s.

@token. I'm biased because the 2000s was when I got back into comics in a big way, particularly X-men. I think its not the greatest period but it had some good writers and events, a B minus era

Re: Spotlight on...CAPTAIN MARVEL I

Speaking of Quantum Bands, I also noticed that Quasar is not in the “legacy” section. I haven’t read a comic with Quasar was in it since 1992, or thereabouts. Maybe he’s explicitly disavowed being influenced by MarVell, but damn if that costume and those wrist bands don’t look like an effort to bac...

Watched “An American Tale” with my six-year-old niece the other day, and she hasn’t stopped singing “There are NOOOOO cats in America” since.

I thought it held up great!

Sandler, I can't stand Chris Rock and I can't thinkof a good Chris Rock film. Sandler's not much better but he had some memorable films in the 90s.

Well surely some people in this universe must be constructs right? I mean its a whole world but only the X-Men were sucked into the AoXM, who are the other mutants? X-Man didn't travel the world vacuuming up mutants, that we know of anyway. Characters like this Dani could be not real

Re: Captain Marvel

There's also a concerted effort by online trolls to tank the film by churning out fake negative reviews. I know that won't have impacted the early reviews so I'm putting more stock in them for the time being, at least until the film has been out for a little while

Re: Captain Marvel

Reviews are fair to middling, even from the inclusion-boosting crowd. I think we may finally be reaching a level of MCU burnout that’s impacting how it’s being recieved. Lots of, “it’s fine, but nothing new.” I almost think Disney would be smart to give the franchise a 3-4 year hiatus after Endgame...
