Re: Random Thoughts

This is... curious. I wonder if there's any truth to the claims. https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/57yjdb/universal_studios_floridas_halloween_horror/ One of my co-workers has gone to every HHN since it's inception, so I'll ask him next chance I get at work. He isn't big on embe...

Re: Exiles

What?? I never knew that! That's insane - what a strange editorial edict. Okay! I found it! And grossly mis-remembered the interview! Hickman said "When [editor] Tom Brevoort and I first started talking about doing this years ago, the original concept for what I wanted to do was kind of like “Exile...

Re: Exiles

Sorry, I meant I hope to find out what the Exiles were up to during the destruction. I was thinking too many thoughts when I typed the sentence and I didn't put down what I meant. Given the Exiles' whole schitck was the protection of the multiverse I found it really weird how they were completely i...

Re: Broken Legacy: 15 Mistakes In Marvel Comics

Funny thing is I kind of enjoy the cameos of Unworthy Thor. I feel like if "Odinson" remembers this era after he gets his hammer back, whenever that is, he'll be a more interesting character. It's the problems I have had with Herc. Both guys need a cycle of humbling phases. Absolutely. This is the ...

Re: Broken Legacy: 15 Mistakes In Marvel Comics

I think that part of the reason has to do with the narrative the characters are in as well. Amadeus and Laura are both filling in spots that are empty, those heroes are (were) dead. And while yeah, they've been replaced, I also feel like a) Amadeus and Laura have been in the extended cast of their "...

Re: Random Thoughts

Paper Girls is just Stranger Things but better and all girls... As someone who hated ‘Stranger adaptations of Stephen King novels all in one film and with changed names so we don’t have to pay him royalties”, you’re not selling Paper Girls to me as a good comic here.... I haven't seen Stranger Thin...

Re: Marvel 2-in-One #1

There's a part of me that wants to say "This comic should have happened sooner", but on the other hand, I like the idea that Ben and Johnny tried to build lives for themselves outside of the FF first and have, after finding those lives don't work for them, to fall back in together. Ben was always th...

My final, weird pick, is Toad , from the House of M! https://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/5/52185/2469684-house_of_m_05_page_45.jpg I knew, right off the bat, that I wanted Bishop - especially 90's Bishop. I wanted to play into and against his hero worship of the X-Men. This is why I picked...

Re: X-Men Blue #17

I’ve never read 2099. Would this issue have been readable if I had? Yeah. This version of 2099 does not represent the Classic 2099 time period and the 2099 characters get little focus. Just wondering, because I thought this issue was appalling and didn’t understand what you lot saw in it at all Hey...

Re: X-Men Blue #17

I didn't think of this until just now but this X-Men 2099 could be the ones from the timeline of the "new" Spider-Man 2099 (who had the most recent series) and not the original one? I tend to think not, simply given how different that timeline was shown to be in the Spider-Man 2099 book, but the th...

Re: X-Men Blue #17

Perhaps I went into this with my hopes too high, but I didn't really dig this. For the unfamiliar, the basic set up of this future is super different. The X-Men 2099 were nearly completely unconnected to AlchemaX (Meanstreak, the speedster, used to work for them before he joined the team, but that w...

I super agree. Darkhawk's appearance during DnA's stuff actually led me to getting his own book and I feel like this works really well as an extension of that. This book not only does a great job of catching us up on Darkhawk's basic history (crooked cop father, accidental super powers, a desire to ...

I was thinking of picking a random character like Lizzie Bennett from pride & prejudice, but then went for safer option. It is an interesting round though! The Marvel Illustrated line hadn't crossed my mind at ALL, but you mentioning P&P made me think of the Oz books, so before I can change my mind...
