Re: Amazing Spider-Man #1

The Mysterio in Scarlet is definitely called Quentin Beck and, during the courtroom scene, I believe the Beetle refers to him as Beck, so this is the same guy.

Re: Amazing Spider-Man #1

Wow, what a crotch-kick of a first issue. I don't think I've ever read a character's life go sideways so flippin' quickly! But Spencer did it super well, not only tying together the various plot threads of Peter's life, but bits and pieces of past continuity too. I'm very happy to see Boomerang back...

Re: Immortal Hulk #2

This is so good. I was expecting to enjoy this, as I've enjoyed everything else that Al Ewing has written, but I'm LOVING this. The basic premise is a nice nod to the idea of "Banner on the run/road, followed everywhere by the Hulk", but SUPER well executed. I'm sad that the super-intelligent Banner...

Re: Who is Magneto?

BOTH of you have a point. I agree with BC that Cyclops' journey (what I would call a fall from grace) justifies the creation of X-Force and his actions after that for the character. The X-Men - and mutantkind in general - had been pushed to the brink. Scott had been raised from an adolescent to prot...

Re: Deadpool 2

- I think I was the only one in the whole theatre who laughed at the Liefeld/can't draw feet joke. I had the exact same experience. Same here. As a "general audience movie fan", I dug it. It's funny, it's dramatic, it looks good, knocked it outta the park. As a "devoted his life to the X-Men fan", ...

Re: Exiles #3

One of the things that I think this version of Exiles is doing really well is hitting home the THREAT of the Time Eater. I know there's been a lot of complaining about the overall direction of the book (which I think is valid), but I like the Time Eater is RIGHT on the Exiles tail. One of the things...

Re: West Coast Avengers Live Again!

The only character I DONT care for here is Gwenpool, and having one out of five suck isn't bad. Thompson did a wonderful job on Hawkeye, I liked the recent Rogue & Gambit mini, and I'll be happy to pick this up.

Re: Random Thoughts

Hell, my girlfriend, who watched anime as a teenager, gives me shit about some of the stuff I watch. I got annoyed when I talked about crying during an episode of an anime and she said that was stupid because anime doesn't have stuff like that. This really bothers me because for me, for so long, th...

Usually accompanied by a Wendy Williams gif.
Which begs the next question. Who is Wendy Williams?
First time I saw her show, I asked the same thing.

I've taken a blood oath to never allow her show in my presence.

Re: Who is Magneto?

I think that's it's much more telling that Magneto has spent the past few years working with the X-Men (in some capacity) than on his own. After the events of House of M, Deadly Genesis, Decimation, and more recently the M-Pox bullsh, the X-Men ideology has definitely move more towards Magnus' "surv...

Re: underused characters

Rusty and Skids, for sure. I feel like they could have been the Scott & Jean of New Mutants. Marrow, MAGGOTT, and Dr. Reyes are long-time faves for me. I've been glad to see him in Generation X v2, but Chamber. The Acolytes. Given that they were meant to be the X-Men of Magneto, the fact that almost...

Re: Amazing Spidey #699

I like that Slott isn't dumbing this down any. Peter is playing this as smart as he possibly can, calling all the right shots and using all the right people (I loved him referring to all of his back-up as his Web) but this isn't a normal threat. I am honestly puzzled as to how in the world Peter can...

Re: Domino #1

Domino doesn't seem like the type of person to marry nor stay with the same person for too long. I agree. I just thought that the pairing was a nice change of pace for both of them - Dom falling for a sweet nice guy and Peter falling for a dangerous, devil-may-care, type. It would never have lasted...

Re: Venomized #2

I wish there was some kind of stake to make Venom IMPORTANT to all of this. Deadpool and Carnage were the important players in Venomverse, Eddie was basically just a passenger during Poison-X, and now in Venomized, he's still the least important character in the book. I DO like that he's very protec...

Re: Captain America #700

I thought the commentary on Steve being a soldier as opposed to a leader was interesting. I think it's fitting though - Steve's role has always been to maintain freedom so that individuals and people can live their lives and shape the lives of others. He's an inspiration, but even he doesn't have ev...

Re: Domino #1

I had the same thought regarding the introduction page at the end of the issue - I didn't know Domino had participated in some kind of super-solider program? I'll be the first to admit though that I haven't followed EVERY Domino appearance, so perhaps I missed it. That said, Simone's playful and mel...

Re: Extermination of Original 5

Despite enjoying Bunn's X-Men: Blue, I am MORE than okay with getting rid of the 05. I'm one of those people who would rather read about their adult counterparts than the kids, so I'll be rooting for the villain in this one!

@Wings - misseDirections cast gets weirder the deeper you go. ; ) I kept Sway around cuz I feel like her powers are really interesting. Outside of Tempus during Bendis' pretty crap run, we've never seen an X-Man with the ability to manipulate time. I've seen some Darwin since, I've seen some Vulcan,...

Well, I've got a love of love and fan-ideas for the DG group (as seen in my fanfic misseDirections - available on Uncanon!), but I'm going to switch up things. Cyclops and Marvel Girl leave. Re: New Mutants film announced!

One is about a romantic relationship that no one really would have guessed: Illyana and Dani become an item. while I think some LGBT representation is good, I always thought Illyana was asexual and think that would be even better to show in a mainstream movie. Has Illyana ever shown interest in a r...

Re: New Sentry Series by Jeff Lemire and Kim Jacinto

@RingOtaku - That's one of the things that I think is really interesting about Sentry; each story-arc to focus on him really does reinterpret his origin differently. The OG mini-series, the Jeff Parker mini-series, his appearance in early New Avengers, the Romita JR mini, and then Bendis' Biblical u...
