Re: EDITOR X: POST AoXM

@username - I mean, I won't lie, the biggest reason I chose Jean is cuz I want her. I'M the editor, I can do/allow whatever I want, and I want to see Jean get more spotlight as a leader. I've seen Cyclops as a leader for YEARS and I've seen Logan as a leader for YEARS and Jean has only just come bac...

Re: EDITOR X: POST AoXM

First off, I humbly, in my brilliance and excellence, accept the job. Secondly, I think I've got my wildcard book. ASTONISHING X-MEN - While not an Emma Frost fan by any stretch of the imagination, I can't deny that she has earned her place in and amongst the world of the X-Men. But if Jean is my Pr...

Oh gee, thanks for sending me down a never ending rabbit hole when I should be working! But I choose to enter this Wonderland, so let's goooooooo! Re: Thunderbolts Draft

I'm surprised it's taken so long for Atlas to go. Thunderbolts founding member with as long stay on the team. I would argue that Atlas has the least "cool" arc of the OG Thunderbolts, unlike the heroic growth of Songbird and MACH-V, the loss of innocence of characters like Jolt and Charcoal, or the...

Re: Thunderbolts Draft

With Ironclad taken, my original idea for some muscle is gone, so instead, Sable will hire another mercenary and former Thunderbolt, Erik Josten, aka Atlas . https://www.writeups.org/wp-content/uploads/Atlas-Marvel-Comics-Josten-Thunderbolts-a.jpg And then, cuz I'm running out of good reasons, Sable...

Re: Random Thoughts

You aren't going crazy, you did talk about barber shops. But for some unknown reason, this discussion took place in the thread for Uncanny X-Men #15. I mean someone has to do something about what Wolverine is rocking up there.... Maybe Wolverine is a Saiyan and his hair hasn't changed since birth? ...

Re: Thunderbolts Draft

*coughs* Well, I suppose it won't be a surprise that I want Arachne as my Double Agent, BUT HERE WE ARE. And for my next round pick, Sable wants someone a bit more unorthodox. With Symkaria's recent political unrest, she needs to win back what allies she can, yes, but she also needs to make sure tha...

Re: Hickman return confirmed! Will it be on X-men?

I only just got and read Gaiman's Eternals and I have to agree with Anna, it's pretty perfect in it's execution. I read the first issue and it felt JUST how a pilot episode of a show should work. Given Hickman's use of the Deviants and Celestials throughout his SHIELD run, I'd say that he definitely...

Re: Age of X-man vs Uncanny X-men

I'd been waiting until I got X-Tracts and Prisoner X before chiming in on this thread and I'm kind of surprised to find that I'm on the opposite side: I'm digging Age of X-Man WAY more than Uncanny. Part of that is BECAUSE Age of X-Man is an alternate reality. Ever since the AoA as a kid I've dug th...

Re: Skyward Sword vs BotW

Ocarina was MY first Zelda game, so I have a decent amount of nostalgia love for it, but a lot of the handheld Zelda games are so much better. Link's Awakening, the Oracle games, and Link Between Worlds are my personal faves. While I loved BotW, I don't know that I would be willing to go through it ...

Re: New Avengers - Sauron‘s escape

I would put money down that Bendis didn't have any kind of plan regarding Sauron. HOWEVER, I would put down money that he would answer this question by saying "They wanted another rogue element out in there in the world, drawing the heroes attention to THAT instead of them." I don't believe it's eve...

My podcast, Comic Book Breakdown, is live

After much time-wasting and lots of trial and error, my podcast - Comic Book Breakdown - is finally live and on the internet! I perhaps unwisely chose to launch by covering the oft-lambasted Heroes Reborn series of books, but I've got three episodes up, covering the first half of Fantastic Four Rebo...

Re: X-Tremists #1

There are three main problems to this issue, to my mind - the tone, the characters, the larger narrative. The tone does not work, at least not yet. The concept of this group has been introduced in the other AoXMN titles. They're the Boogeymen, they're who everyone else is supposed to be afraid of. T...

Re: Skyward Sword vs BotW

I've never played Skyward Sword, so my views aren't terribly couched in anything from experience. From what I've seen, it's simplistic, the controls can be frustrating, the story is pretty trash, and nothing interests me - personally - about it. Breath of the Wild, though, I FLIPPING LOVED. My wife ...

Gwah, Arachne was going to play a pivotal role in relation to one of my next picks, so that forced a rethink, and Madame Masque was going to be MY Mistaken Identity, forcing ANOTHER rethink. This'll be fun to ignore when Marvel loses the Conan rights again. Do like Shang-Chi renaming the father. "Remember when we teamed up with Cunon? Yeah that was totally his real name and the only one we should use from now on. Cunon the Conqueror." I'd love it if they just called him Arnold the whol...

Conan was owned by Marvel previously btw...like SW...which is turning out pretty good *shrug*
I've actually been wondering if Selene and Kulan Gath - who, from my understanding, originated in Marvel's older Conan stuff - would cross paths with him again.

I'll probably try this book for the cast, but like Jazz above me, Gerry Duggan has been SUPER hit or miss for me. GotG started out pretty good, but Infinity Wars was a MESS.

Having retaken Symkaria back from the nefarious clutches of Norman Osborn and Countess Karkov, Sable has a nation to rebuild. Symkaria's faith in her leadership is low, their economy and morale is in ruins, and Sable needs to re-establish a power base QUICKLY. She then decides to put together a team...
