Re: Marvel moves into digital only issues

Way to screw up my Captain Marvel collection (Star would've been worked in upon it's completion).

Re: Diamond Halts Comic Distribution

One of my local shops, A Comic Shop in Orlando, FL, had been doing live auctions for months before they were forced to close - and they have stepped up their game since. They are doing about 2-3 live auctions weekly and will then ship (or deliver w/o contact if nearby) the comics to their purchasers...

I am SOLELY here for Anka's artwork and I'm glad I showed up. This issue looks GORGEOUS to me. The Deadpool and Howard the Duck cameo's were great, I like Kade as a foil for both Patch and Felicia, and this was a lot of fun. I can't help but feel like this whole story could have been a stand-alone i...

Re: 2020 iWolverine series brings back [REDACTED]

I just noticed the iWolverine listing in the Iron man 2020 checklist and was wondering how they were going to shoe-horn Logan into the narrative, so I'm QUITE relieved to learn that it's about Albert and Elsie Dee. I'm totally down to read about whatever they're up to, ESPECIALLY if Larry Hama is wr...

I have nothing but love for Fabian Nicieza's writing, so that ALONE has me excited. I'd love to see more an established purpose (and look) for Cain, who's just kind of been bouncing around for his past couple of appearances.

Re: Empyre - Avengers & Fantastic Four Event

The creative team here is amazing, I'm intrigued by how Teddy's story is going to play out, and I like exploration of Marvel's cosmic side at all times. But I gotta say: I hope this doesn't get too big. I am legitamitly getting event fatigue, which I thought would never happen for me. Age of X-Man t...

Re: A team of mutants like you've never seen before...

My friend - who is a Havok fan - and I got together this afternoon to catch up and, eventually, talked about Hellions. And as we were talking, like, what could this book POSSIBLY be about, I kinda hit upon an idea. Nanny and Orphan Maker's role job, previously, has been the murder of human adults an...

Re: Marvel 2099

I've really been enjoying the 2099 books so far. As a big fan of the OG 2099, I'm always super skeptical of Marvel revisiting the characters/concepts, but they've done a pretty good job with this. I like reinterpreting what 2099 is rather than sticking hardcore to the established continuity. FF 2099...

The Magneto scenes in House of X #1 were some of the best interpretations of Magneto that I've seen in awhile, so having a whole GIANT SIZED book dedicated to him sounds great.

I feel like Pak's really been building a whole other world inside of the Marvel Universe with the Agents of Atlas stuff. The WoR mini was a good read, I'm digging the latest material, and so I'll definitely be getting this. Glad to see Atlantis' continued moment in the spotlight as well!

"T. Rex doesn't want to be fed, he wants to HUNT. You can't just... suppress 65 million years of gut instinct." Apocalypse is a conqueror. With mutantkind on the rise, it makes total sense that he would turn his attention towards the Multiverse. I wonder if his experiences in the Age of X-Man are go...

When I heard about all of the guest stars teaming up to fight the newest iteration of the Thunderbolts, I got super pumped. I typically don't go in for Invaders related stuff, but picking up on the Namor thread from Avengers drew me in and I'm glad it did. I feel like previous attempts at Invaders stuff are REALLY reliant on their shared history - which makes sense, I'm not knocking it - I've just never cared for their s...

Re: Powers of X #2 (SPOILERS)

Btw, what a cool Cyclops moment was that: "Does it need doing?" "Then it will be done". Our boy is determined and is confident of his teams abilities (or, you know, being mind controlled) Comparisons have been drawn between Hickman's issues so far and Morrison's New X-Men, but I think they're mostl...

Wasn't Darkhawk in a situation like that? Annabelle Riggs and Valkyrie for a time shared a body and switched back and forth. I actually almost mentioned Darkhawk in my post - I finished a collection of Darkhawk a few months back - but he only swapped bodies. Chris Powell was always in control, only...

Re: Characters that turn into different people

Dan Ketch and his Spirit of Vengeance were WRAPPED in this story-telling style for Ghost Rider vol. 2. There was actually a whole arc where Danny was trapped in the space where he exists while Ghost Rider is a-riding and Doctor Strange had to help rescue him to restore their balance.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

My wife and I have been playing MUA3. The game does a great job introducing and integrating the various pieces of the Marvel Universe. We're seven chapters in, I think, and that part is great. The characters look great for the most part, they sound great, and some of the story-elements have surprise...

Re: House of X #1 (SPOILERS)

The Omega Protocols foreshadows the chances for mutants to combine powers if I read it correctly. I noticed that too. What's more, it implies a potentially insidious caste system. (Again, this makes me think that "Xavier" is the Maker; his version of the Future Foundation back when Hickman was runn...

@InsipidLust - Cheers and huzzah! Let Hickman unite us all! Re: House of X #1 (SPOILERS)

Intellectually, I was excited for Hickman to work on the X-Men because I enjoyed his work on the Avengers and Fantastic Four and I knew - I KNEW - that I would enjoy his work here. Intellectually, on a BRAIN level. I did not remember the VISCERAL feelings of excitement, of confusion, of intrigue, of...

I absolutely love the OG 2099 books, so I'm a) super excited and b) super skeptical about this. On the one hand, I'd love to see PAD write Avengers 2099 and feature the cast he was building in S-Man 2099 vol. 3, or have Cullen Bunn write X-Men 2099. On the other hand, I remember the Marvel Knights 2...

Re: Back to Basics or Forward to the Future?

Always. Move. Forward. You can't build a successful future if you keep exploring the foundation of it. I do agree that the best (and typically underrated) X-authors have managed to use the stories that came before to inform their modern day stories - PAD's X-Factor is a great example, and I think Mi...

Side note: so Daredevil talked about the Hell Race (Ghost Riders’ race?), Drawing of the Heralds (the Starbrand planet?), Sea Trials (war with Namor?), Fury of Khonshu (the mummy army led by Moon Knight), and Red Rise of America’s Greatest Heroes (the Squadron Supreme and Mephisto?)....
